GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Washington Redskins have announced the following inactives and lineup changes for today’s game against the Arizona Cardinals:

The Redskins declared the following players as inactive:

o No. 10 QB Robert Griffin III

o No. 15 WR Aldrick Robinson

o No. 22 CB Tracy Porter

o No. 53 LB Jackson Jeffcoat

o No. 56 LB Perry Riley, Jr.

o No. 60 G Spencer Long

o No. 76 T Morgan Moses

No. 51 Will Compton is expected to start in place of No. 56 Perry Riley, Jr. at jack linebacker.

He can't cover anyone. I'd be surprised if he's here next season.

Moss finally active, and I've forgotten that Robinson was even on the team after a good preseason.

You'd be surprised if Riley is here next season? I know his coverage has been poor, but he is still a good run stopper and pretty damned young. I'd say we could get a better D-coordinator to scheme to his strengths and he might return to being a valuable part of our D.

I'm pretty sure pass coverage skills aren't the top priority in a linebacker :) The reason he's been forced to cover so much (and not always looked great doing so) is because our secondary is a disaster. Riley is one of our top 5 defenders and he's not going anywhere.

Unless we keep Rak, and move Murphy inside, and Compton turns into a monster, and we use yet another pick or 2 on an LB, or sign a big-name FA/
Or any combination of the above, then I can see Riley going somewhere

Yes. He's had a bunch of carries early.

Win4us, not lately. I'd be thrilled if we didn't give him the ball again on a first down for the next three games.

Either throw on first or let's see what the other RBs can do.
