Game Notes: Washington Redskins vs. Seattle Seahawks
• The Washington Redskins fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 27-17, in front of an announced crowd of 79,522 people at FedExField on Monday.
• The game was the Redskins’ 64th appearance on Monday Night Football since the program’s inception in 1970. It marked the first Monday night matchup between the Redskins and Seahawks.
• The Redskins fell to 4-1 against defending Super Bowl champions on Monday Night Football. The Redskins had previously won Monday night games against the Dallas Cowboys in 1978, the Cowboys in 1993, the St. Louis Rams in 2000 and the New York Giants in 2012.
• Wide receiver DeSean Jackson posted a season-high 157 receiving yards on five receptions with one touchdown. Jackson’s 31.4 yards per reception were his most in a game in which he caught at least five passes.
• The 100-yard receiving game was the 22nd of Jackson’s career and his second as a member of the Redskins.
• Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 21-of-36 passes for 283 yards with two touchdowns and a passer rating of 102.0. Cousins has exceeded a passer rating of 100.0 in three of his four games this season.
• Cousins connected with Jackson for a 60-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
• The touchdown was Jackson’s second of the season and the 34th of his career.
• Jackson now has 19 total touchdowns covering 50 yards or more since entering the league in 2008, the most in the NFL. He is now tied with teammate Santana Moss for 10th-most in the NFL since the 1970 merger.
• The touchdown was the Redskins’ longest at FedExField since a 61-yard touchdown pass from Robert Griffin III to Santana Moss on Nov. 18, 2012. Including an 81-yard touchdown pass between the two in Week 3 at Philadelphia, Cousins and Jackson have been responsible for the Redskins’ two longest plays of the season.
• Cousins and Jackson connected for a 57-yard gain on the first play from scrimmage in the second half. Jackson’s two long receptions now give him 25 receptions of 50 yards or more since 2008, the most in the NFL.
• The Redskins did not turn the ball over for the second time in five games this season. The Redskins had only one zero-turnover game a season ago.
• Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan broke the 30-sack mark for his career in the first quarter, dropping Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson for a seven-yard loss.
• Kerrigan became the eighth player to record 30 sacks with the Redskins, joining Dexter Manley, Charles Mann, Monte Coleman, Ken Harvey, Brian Orakpo, Dave Butz and Andre Carter.
• Kerrigan leads the NFC and is tied with fellow 2011 draft pick Justin Houston (Kansas City) for the most sacks in the NFL this season (6.0).
• Safety Brandon Meriweather recorded his first sack of the season and the fourth of his career, tackling Wilson for an eight-yard loss in the second quarter.

• Linebacker Akeem Jordan made his Redskins debut and added the second kickoff return of his career, gaining five yards on a fourth quarter return.
