Redskins Sign NT Robert Thomas to Active Roster

REDSKINS SIGN NT ROBERT THOMAS TO ACTIVE ROSTER

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed nose tackle Robert Thomas to the team’s active roster from its practice squad.

Thomas (6-3, 325) originally signed with the Redskins as a college free agent on May 14, 2014. He was waived by the team on Aug. 29, 2014, before signing to the team’s practice squad two days later.

Thomas appeared in 31 career games at Arkansas from 2011-13 after transferring from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. He made 72 career tackles (30 solo) as a Razorback and added six career sacks.

Thomas, 23, attended Muskogee (Okla.) H.S., where he earned District 6A-3 lineman of the year honors from the district’s coaches. He was born on Feb. 18, 1991.

Let's hope he can do what Chris Nield did in his first game up against the Gnats...

I got the impression he's depth, and Baker is staying at nose...

Nield was depth in that game too. I believe it was the first game with Cofield at NT.

Good point B. I'm lookin forward to seeing how Baker fares over the next few games. He's a true nose, and I could see him taking the spot, and Cofield moving over, or moving on. Don't get me wrong, I love Barry, but Baker could be our anchor in the middle for years to come.

This kid is not dressing up for game...activated to roster and deactivated for game.
