REDSKINS RE-SIGN CB DEANGELO HALL
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. –The Washington Redskins announced today that they have re-signed cornerback DeAngelo Hall. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hall (5-10, 193) was originally selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. For his career, he has appeared in 149 regular season games with 143 starts, compiling 715 tackles (563 solo), 136 passes defensed, 43 interceptions, 13 fumbles recovered, nine fumbles forced and two sacks.
Hall has played 84 regular season games with the Redskins with 79 starts, registering 436 tackles (according to STATS, LLC), 23 interceptions, seven fumbles recovered, six fumbles forced and a sack. He ended the 2013 season as one of five active players with 40 career interceptions, and his 23 interceptions since joining the Redskins on Nov. 7, 2008 are tied for the third-most in the NFL in that time frame.
In 2013, Hall led the Redskins with four interceptions and became the first player in Redskins history to score three defensive touchdowns in a season (two via interception return, one via fumble return). In 2010, he tied an NFL single-game record with four interceptions at Chicago, and would later earn his third Pro Bowl selection and be named 2011 Pro Bowl MVP.
Hall spent four seasons in Atlanta from 2004-07 before being traded to the Oakland Raiders on March 20, 2008. He started eight games for Oakland before his release on Nov. 5, 2008, and signing with the Redskins on Nov. 7, 2008. Hall was released by the Redskins on March 11, 2013 before re-signing with the team on April 4, 2013.
Hall, 30, played collegiately at Virginia Tech from 2001-03, recording 190 tackles, 20 passes defensed, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and seven receptions for 86 yards with one touchdown in his three-year career.
Hall was born on Nov. 19, 1983. He attended Deep Creek H.S. in Chesapeake, Va.
