Shanahan's contract was pretty ironclad, hence the paying of 7-million in spite of what transpired towards the end of the season. This could also be why the Redskins for the foreseeable future go the route of "fresh coaches" instead of re-treads. We can't get a name to come here without "giving too much" almost by definition because we have to cave-in to get them to sign on the dotted line. The only way around it is with a fresh, hungry coach who would be willing to take on a major challenge. The money will be there, but the insane power - I think in the next iteration - will not. I guess we'll see.
