These guys have a lot of talent but they are doing no one a service by failing to stay in shape in the offseason and then taking a pass on camp reps and the preseason.

These guys look a step slow still and AH seems to get dinged at least once ot twice each week.

Last year the Redskins gave Portis a bonus to attend all the offseason sessions and he had 1,487 yards off a fast start.

Does this look like the same player to you?

San Huff was calling these guys out for basically the same thing this week and last

"Sit out? Sit out? WHat kind of crap is that?"

these guys both made plays today against a team that may be the worst in the AFC, but the example they are setting of indifferent work ethic and depending upon natural talent alone is a poor one that is not going to do anything positive for Orakpo, Landry, Jarmon, or any of the other younger players on the roster.

this team desperately needs leaders on the field, and except for London Fletcher it doesn't appear as if that is a quality that Snyder and Cerrato care about.

Last year it was Jason Taylor. This year Haynesworth and Hall.

Talented players.

But guys that are focused primarily on themselves and not how the team does as a whole.

To be fair Portis tailed off at the end of last year. Not coincidentally when Samuels and Thomas were out. Guess whose out this year, Samuels and Thomas. I think if the Redskins had an offensive line, he might look better.

Although sometimes it seems he has forgotten how to make quick cuts. If he'd cut back on the long run he could have scored. On that pass to the flat he just stood there dancing and got nailed rather than making a quick cut and a move upfield, bringing it to the defender.

Portis should hav ehad a TD last week on that long run ,except he ran out of gas and got a bitch block from Sellers at the end of the run. Portis is on the down side of his career. If he cared, he'd be hitting the gym extra hard to compensate, but he doesn't because he's been paid. As far as I'm concerned, he and his mouth can hit the road.

I like that Fat Albert stepped up in the locker room last week, but whoever the new coach is needs to make sure he's in the gym this summer as well
