Random Commanders Thoughts

Meanwhile Bruce stays, the team continues to lose and the dumpster fire burns brightly 🙈

This Williams debacle has me at my breaking point with this organization. His trade value only decreases from whatever offer(s) they might have gotten yesterday. Here 's a tip Bruce, if you weren't a loser asshat working for a loser asshat you wouldn't have to worry about players trying to force an out. You are the problem. Snyder is the problem. Williams is a symptom. You aren't teaching anyone a lesson here. You're making the organization look continually inept.

Ian Rapoport tweeted ~ "If the Redskins can't find a helmet that doesn't give Trent Williams pain by the time his roster exemption expires, the options are: He plays in pain or the team puts him on NFI (which means they can choose to pay him or not). Either way, his contract won't toll."

Hey, try this helmet. It comes with a chair too. :devilish:

Dan needs to run down to the equipment room tonight and remove every single helmet that fits Trent's big ass head. One size smaller than what he's accustomed to while giving the equipment managers a trip to Hawaii if they add larger cushions on the inside of the helmets that are left.

I would

Well, it'll keep you all warm and fuzzy then, won't it.

But you'll get some sort of lung infection that cakes your lungs with carcinogens.

Deion, Haynesworth, Cousins......so many players have made Dan look stupid and hit him financially.

Now I hope Trent is next.

Just embarrass Dumb and Dumber again.

Only problem...it looks like the team holds the cards this time.

Think Ax called it weeks ago, TW is a fraud

Well we know a few things for certain, right?

1) Trent's the best player we've drafted in a decade.

2) Dan Snyder is a fraud.

3) Bruce is a fraud.

Other topics are up for debate, but the points above are indisputable.

17 surgeries for Alex Smith, 3 for Guice and how many for McCoy? The way in which we treat our players might be fraudulent too.

Can't argue your points, I think they are valid...what makes Bruce Allen trash in this case is that he couldn't take a note from Rizzo w/ the Nats, pay players their money if it's deserved, but don't overpay! And remove the cancers from your team.

TW became a cancer, we had ample opportunity to dump him, he should have been traded. He is garbage! This wasn't about anything other than money and I didn't want to believe it at first.

You forgot coaches too. Spurrier, Zorn, Gruden.

BTW, about time to change your sig ain't it? Maybe to...…
Thank you Jay Gruden. Multiple Superbowl appearances are now possible again. Since you're gone.

And how many were performed by the Redskins medical staff? You know, the ones that told Pothead Crybaby to go see a specialist about his boo-boo?

There are a ton of things to crucify the FO for. This ain't one. No matter how many times you fraudulently assert that it is.

I don't see how Zorn or Gruden financially hit Snyder. Spurrier may have. And I know Gibbs left a year early.

You're delusional if you think the HC was holding us back. I had actually thought about changing my sig a year ago, when we messed up the Cousins situation and decided to enter last season with no WRs on the roster. One person can only do so much.....but the good news? The sig doesn't say with which team he'll appear in multiple SBs. I hope that doesn't upset or trigger you in the years ahead.

This is definitely something to question the FO about. No team has had so many medical mishaps in the league before. And it's year after year. A third party review of the medical staff--both off and onsite--is what any other organization would have done. But that costs money. A new playing surface might also help our health, but that too, costs money.

If Tom Brady had gone to his medical staff with a lump on his head, they would have flown 3 of the best doctors in on the very next day--not have told him to go see someone else. But again, that requires intelligence and spending a few dollars.

To me it's a mix.

Some of the issues seem to be in re the responsiveness of the medical staff and the bureaucracy that seems to come with it.

But the other part IMO is the Redskins don't adequately take into consideration the injury histories of the players they draft and sign in free agency.

Other teams like New England have a factor for injury status and they are not afraid to throw out a draft reject grade on a player or limit when they might begin to consider the player in the draft.

The Redskins signed Paul Richardson to a $40M deal but he came with a long injury history and got hurt almost immediately in 2018 and went on injured reserve.

The Redskins signed Shawn Lauvao from Cleveland and kept bringing him back for several seasons despite his having continuing injury problems that landed him on IR.

We obviously can say the same thing about Jordan Reed who the team has been waiting for to get healthy for the past 3 years.

In the draft we took Guice who had knee issues in college and he was hurt from the jump in 2018 and again in 2019.

I remember after the draft when the Redskins said he should have been a first round pick of that New England had him outside the top 4 rounds because of the injury flag at a position where longevity is challenged even if you don't have an injury history.

This year we used our #4 pick on a player in Bryce Love that came in unable to play and be on PUP the entire year.

Can a 1-7 team continue to make these kind of moves?

It's great if the Chiefs or Rams want to take flyers on guys that early in the draft with their recent records and skill lineups.

We simply don't have the talent levels to bring in guys that that are hobbled and we are hoping can recover and play big for us.

Wow.

Trent Williams spoke to the media for about 18 minutes today in Ashburn.

He said the tumor first popped up SIX years ago. It wasn't until this off-season that the Redskins training staff finally took it seriously. At that point he got it checked out and it was cancerous.

Williams says that they were able to find and remove the cancer just weeks before it made its way to his skull.

He was told to "get his affairs in order" by a doctor. He was told it was very possible that he was going to die.

Two words: Bull Shit

Six years? Trent wants to believe he sat on his own health for six years and it's the team's fault? His dumb ass could have gotten it checked out 5.5 years ago. My mother was dead in two from metastatic breast cancer. Six years? You're lying, Trent. Plain and simple.

Training Staff or Medical Staff ?
2 different things.
I'm sure it's not the Training Staff's responsibility to diagnose or treat cancer.

Per PFT

Williams said he went to team doctors almost six years ago about the growth on his head that he wound up having removed this offseason. He said the doctors told him it was a minor condition at the time and he accepted that diagnosis while continuing to play.

The growth continued to grow, however, and he sought other outside opinions earlier this year. That was when he learned he had Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans, which is a rare, soft-tissue cancer.

“I had cancer. I had a tumor removed. It got pretty serious for a second. I was told some scary things by the doctor,” Williams said, via Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post.

1) Why didn't they do a complete audit of the medical staff as anyone with an IQ above 10 would have done before this season began? Too cheap?

2) What player would ever come to this shi-show as long as Bruce is still employed?
