Game Notes: Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys
• The Redskins earned their first division title since 1999 with a 28-18 win against the Dallas Cowboys in front of an announced crowd of 82,845 people at FedExField on Sunday.
• At 10-6, the Redskins are NFC East champions for the first time since 1999. The championship is the Redskins’ 14th division title in team history.
• Washington has now clinched its 23rd playoff berth in team history and the first playoff berth since the 2007 season.
• The Redskins are the fourth team since 1990 to earn a playoff berth after opening the season 3-6. Washington is the first 3-6 team to do so since the 1996 Jacksonville Jaguars.
• The win represents the Redskins’ seventh consecutive and gives the team its first seven-game winning streak since winning seven in a row in Weeks 2-9 of the 1996 season.
• The seven-game winning streak is the Redskins seventh winning streak of seven or more games in a single season in team history, excluding playoffs (seven in 1996, 11 in 1991, nine in 1983, nine in 1972, nine in 1942, seven in 1940). Washington made NFL Championship/Super Bowl appearances in four of these five seasons, winning two titles.
• The win was the Redskins’ 10th win this season, the team’s highest total since 2005. This marks the 17th season of 10 or more wins for the Redskins in team history.
• With the Redskins winning the NFC East one season after finishing in last in the division, the Redskins completed their first “worst-to-first” one-season turnaround in team history.

• The game was Morris’ seventh 100-yard rushing performance of the season, the most by a Redskin since Portis in 2005 (nine).

• Griffin III set NFL rookie records for passer rating (102.4, surpassing Russell Wilson’s 100.0 passer rating this season and Ben Roethlisberger’s 98.1 from the 2004 season) and for percentage of passes intercepted (1.3 percent, breaking Charlie Batch’s 1.98 percent).
• With his first pass attempt, Griffin III set the team rookie record for pass attempts in a season, surpassing Norm Snead (375 in 1961).
• Griffin III finishes the regular season with team rookie records for completions (258), pass attempts (393), passing yards (3,200), passing touchdowns (20), completion percentage (65.6) and passer rating (102.4). • The Redskins did not turn the ball over on Sunday, setting a team record for fewest turnovers in a season (14), surpassing the team record of 16 set in a nine-game season in 1982.
• Sunday marked the sixth game this season the Redskins finished a game without a turnover, a team record.
• The Redskins finished the season with different leaders in receptions (Joshua Morgan, 48), receiving yards (Pierre Garçon, 633) and receiving touchdowns (Santana Moss, eight). • Cornerback Richard Crawford registered his first career interception in the first quarter, picking off Tony Romo and returning it 11 yards.
• Kicker Kai Forbath’s NFL-record 17 consecutive field goals made to open his career ended in the first quarter when his 37-yard field goal attempt hit the right upright.
• Linebacker London Fletcher recorded his first sack of the game by dropping Romo for a four-yard loss in the first quarter.
• Cornerback Josh Wilson registered his second interception of the year, picking off Romo in the first quarter. The interception was Wilson’s first since Week 7 at New York.
• With the interception, the Redskins registered their seventh multi-interception game, the team’s most since posting seven multi-interception games in 1999.
• Washington registered two first-quarter interceptions for the first time since Week 11 vs. Philadelphia.
