Game Notes: Washington Redskins at Cleveland Browns
· The Redskins improved to 8-6 this season with a 38-21 win against the Cleveland Browns in front of an announced crowd of 65,083 people at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Week 15.
· With an 8-6 record, the Redskins are tied with the New York Giants atop the NFC East as of the conclusion of Sunday’s 1 p.m. games. Washington holds the tiebreaker over New York by virtue of the team’s divisional records (3-1 for Washington, 2-3 for New York).
· Washington has a share of first place in the NFC East after 15 weeks for the first time since 1999.
· The win is the Redskins’ fifth straight and gives the team its first five-game regular season winning streak since Weeks 13-17 of the 2005 season.
· The Redskins are 8-6 this season and are at least two games above .500 after 14 or more games for the first time since being 9-7 after the final week of the 2007 season.
· The Redskins’ eight wins on the season are the team’s highest total since 2008.
· Head Coach Mike Shanahan now has 173rd combined regular season and postseason victories as an NFL head coach, bringing him within one win of tying Mike Holmgren for 11th all-time in NFL history.

· Cousins’ 26 completions matched the Redskins’ season high (26 – Griffin III at Tampa Bay in Week 4).
· The game was Cousins’ first 300-yard passing performance and is the fourth 300-yard performance by a Redskins quarterback this season (three by Griffin III, one by Cousins).
· The Redskins became the first team in NFL history to have two different rookie quarterbacks post 300-yard passing games in the same season.

· Running back Evan Royster recorded a career-long 25-yard reception in the second quarter.
· Kicker Kai Forbath connected on his only field goal attempt of the game, converting a 44-yard attempt to move to 15-for-15 for his career and give Washington its first lead of the game.
· Forbath is now one field goal shy of tying Garrett Hartley’s NFL record for consecutive field goals made to begin a career (16).
· The field goal gave Washington 118 points in the second quarter of games this season, the most they’ve scored in any quarter since scoring 132 in the second quarter of games during the 2002 season.
· Linebacker Rob Jackson intercepted Weeden on the first drive of the second half. It was the third interception of the season for Jackson and the third of his career.
· On the ensuing drive, Morris scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season on a three-yard run. The touchdown run tied Morris with Hicks (eight in 1998) for the Redskins rookie record for rushing touchdowns in a season before breaking the record later in the game.
· Later in the quarter, Cousins and Hankerson connected for their second touchdown of the day. It was Cousins’ fourth career passing touchdown and Hankerson’s third career receiving touchdown.
· It marks the first two-touchdown passing day and the first two-touchdown receiving day in the careers of Cousins and Hankerson, respectively.
· Hankerson’s two touchdowns on the game were the first multi-touchdown game by a Redskins receiver since Santana Moss in Week 7 at New York.
· Linebacker London Fletcher recorded his fourth interception of the season, picking off Weeden for the 22rd interception of his career. His 22 interceptions tie him with Chicago’s Brian Urlacher for second-most by an active linebacker.
· Fletcher’s four interceptions this season tie his single-season career high, set in 2000 with St. Louis and 2006 with Buffalo.
· The two interceptions gave the Washington defense its sixth multi-interception game of the season, the most by the team since 2007 (six).
