The pat Ax on the back thread: Kai Forbath

Lanky Livingston

Cobra Kai has been amazing, including a clutch kick to essentially ice the game yesterday. I believe he's still perfect on the season; have the Redskins found their kicker, finally?

That kick was brilliant, no doubt whatsoever. The kid just effing drilled it. That was the perfect spot, on the road, momentum with the other team, for him to blow a kick.

I had that same thought, Goal. This is where Redskins' kickers let us down. But nope, he nailed it about a perfectly as he could have!

It looks like we found our future at kicker for sure. Its great to have a little blind luck once in awhile. I'm not sure how many more times I could've said 'Oh Billy'...

In all actuality, we would have won even if he missed it

not necessarily, that FG forced Dallas to take a FG instead of being able to tie it with a TD... you never know what's going to happen on 4th down.

I can't figure out how this kid was on the street...

Gano would have shanked it, as surely as the sun comes up in the morning

Pat on the back?

Really? A pat on the back?

**** that!!!

After single-handedly solving our 20 year kicking problem, a pat on the back is the best you can do? How bout a beer you cheap sumbitch?

Pat on the back.

Pfffft!

Goes and gets Ax a beer to avoid his wrath lol

You have to have some luck with personnel.

The Redskins saw Forbath in the preseason with Tampa but the Bucs have a pro bowl kicker.

Luckily Kai was still available weeks later when Cundiff flamed out.

And lucky also that Shanahan decided evidently over some objections to go with the rookie insteads of a veteran with more limited range.

Jim Rome had a great tweet right after he nailed that kick...

"And that's why dude bakes his kicks"

couldn't kick off out of the endzone in tampa
couldn't get off the pup list in dallas.

Seriously his kickoffs lack the oomph I'd hoped for. If we cut Banks, we could afford to carry a kickoff specialist! :biggrin2::wall:

He was available for the same reason he has done so well...

...I willed it so.

And though he doesn't consistently put it in the end zone on KO's, good coverage negates any disadvantage there. Also, his leg strength will improve.

He will most certainly miss one, here and there. They all do. But kicker, is no longer a position of need.

Rest easy Redskin Nation.

You're welcome.

It feels good to actually have disaster not strike at the least opportune moment for once. I too thought that diasaster was going to strike and that the Cowboys would then march down the field and complete the comeback, repeating the script that has so often occurred against them and other teams. But he came through and made the kick, and probably dashed the Cowboys hopes just enough.

Ax, shmax

Dude!

I was countin' on you to head up my personal security team.

Don't make me have to ship you off to the Aleutian Islands.

I took care of our kicking troubles.
Why don't you tackle the secondary.
