"The day and date of the crucifixion (Good Friday) are known with a fair degree of precision," he said. But the year has been in question.
Well, duh....The calendar was based on his own birth, and we know he lived 33 years, so naturally his death occurred in the year 33.

I don't know Mike, I don't see how this turns into bickering. I believe Jesus Christ existed, there's no doubt in my mind about that. I also believe he was crucified. To me, this is a story of historical significance. I don't really see it turning into a battle between good and evil, or discussion about the merits of religion vs atheism.

But, because of the topic at hand, and because some people can't help themselves, I put it in here.

Immediately jumping in to claim it's going to start a fight, rather than responding to the topic definitely doesn't help things move in the right direction.

Right now, it's comical, because there's bickering about whether or not there will be bickering. Wtf?

Can't we ever just discuss things without people getting pissy for the sake of getting pissy? (that was rhetorical )

On a side note, the article isn't about religion really. The only time religion is brought up is when they explain that they used bible passages as a sort of guide on where to look for clues. It's a geological and historical article, not a sermon. Something can be about Jesus without being about religion. I don't recall ever meeting anyone that doubts he existed.
