Woweewowwowzers!!! Guess he knows he's coming here, so what's the point? I know workouts and things like that are ceremonial at best in some cases, but it would be a shock if Luck went anywhere other than Indy or RGIII went anywhere other than here.

My understanding is that Griffin is not doing any private workouts at all, for anyone.

Hard not to interpret this as a pretty clear message RG3's camp is not in a hurry to play for Indy. If they really, truly wanted to go #1, they'd find a way to carve out a couple hours of our man's time for Irsay & Co.

I think Tandler has this right. I don't think this is a reason to get too excited yet.

Oh, I think there's plenty of reason to get excited.

Either RG3 or Andrew Luck is going to be the Redskins new quarterback.

Hey man, I was one of the first, maybe the first, to recognize that the Colts might pass on Luck for RGIII. It has been a concern of mine for weeks now. I'm not trying to "pee in everybody's Cheerios" but I am a realist, brother.

Yes Om, I know. And I am excited about that, trust me. But I have a definite preference and while Luck is growing in my estimation, I have a definitive preference for Griffin and nothing he or Luck have done in the last 3 or 4 weeks as made so much as a dent in that preference.

Right now, I will find it hard to be happy Draft Night if we get Luck.

Don't know much about Luck's psyche but after being "the man" for the past few only to end up sloppy seconds because of some media blitz/overhype might well be a hidden motivation for the guy.

I was early on board with the "don't get ahead of yourselves" caution too, brother Neo. And while I too lean slightly toward RG3 over Luck, I think a lot of that has to do with how we all fell in man love with the kid before Luck was even on our radar as a possibility.

Since he has (maybe) become one, I've taken it upon myself to watch and read just about everything I can on Senor Luck, and I gotta tell ya---right now I can honestly say when I read something like what brother Mike posted just above about how they don't see anything special in that guy, I just have to shake my head.

Mike, don't get me wrong. I think Luck has earned it and I believe he will be a great QB in this league. What I don't see with Luck is electricity and I want some. I want that ability to turn a busted play into a back breaker for the other team as has happened so many times to us over the years in the wilderness. I want RGIII's smile, quiet swagger and his polite "Yes sir" and "No sir" responses. I want this former Olympic probable, the son of Army Sargents, in the Nation's Capital and in a Burgundy and Gold uni.

I am not one to normally get wound up about a draft prospect. Fact is, I don't remember ever getting wound up about one. I wasn't even seriously excited about the idea of getting Arrington and Samuels. But this year is different. This year I am wound up and excited and it is all about Griffin.

Sorry man, was just giving you a hard time (hence the smiley).

As far as Luck is concerned, I'm definitely more in the Om camp - he is something special as well. The only proof I need was the 2010 Orange Bowl against one of the top defenses in the league. He absolutely shredded VT!

You aren't ignorant, just paranoid like I am and most other Skins fans have been conditioned to be over the past 20 years.

Let’s look at the facts and enhance our calm; Luck is a fantastic prospect, once a generation if you ask some, who might have gone first overall last year if he came out. A year later he’s still considered by almost everyone to be the top prospect. That would be a hell of a “consolation prize” if the Colts take RG3.

Don’t read that as a slam on RG3. I think he is a fantastic prospect as well. The reason RG3 has gotten the lion’s share of the publicity is that for a long time now the first selection wasn’t in any doubt. What was there to talk about? Now you get a team trading up to the second spot to get “the other guy” and folks are paying attention more. I don’t think it’s more complicated than that.

I’m as guilty as anyone of rationalizing how RG3 is a better pick mostly because subconsciously I already see him as a Skin (that and I see the world through burgundy and gold colored glasses). I’m going to try to stay out of that mode till draft day because we simply don’t know who the Colts will pick. I can’t see how we lose either way.

Cool...I'll take a look at 'em. I did the same for RG3's 3 losses in 2011, seems only right to look at Luck's "down" games too.

First one I checked, btw? The OSU bowl game, which I actually watched from sometime in the 3rd quarter on. Here's a link to the stats and recap of that game. As I recall, Luck drove his team for the apparent chip shot winning FG, but the kicker missed. Then missed again to start OT before OSU hit theirs to win the game. At any rate...not all that bad for a bad game.

    http://espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=320020197

    Andrew Luck, 27-31 (87.1%), 347 yds (11.2) 2 TD, 1 INT, QB rating 195.96 (NCAA); 121.37 (NFL)

...[t]he Cardinal had 590 yards of offense -- nearly 200 more than Oklahoma State -- got another stellar game from Luck before he heads off to the NFL and ran over Oklahoma State's defense behind Stepfan Taylor.

They just couldn't finish it off.

Luck calmly led Stanford 63 yards over the final 2:35 of regulation to set up a chance at winning its second BCS bowl game in two years. Instead, Williamson missed in regulation, again in overtime and was left sobbing in front of his locker while his coaches and teammates tried to shoulder some of the blame.

"In the end, we lost, and I'm as much to blame as anyone," Luck said.

Taylor ran for 177 yards and a pair of scores. Luck was his usual steady self, hitting 27 of 31 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns with an interception...

Yeah, I thought Luck played really well in the OSU game. Stanford had the ground game churning also, I think they ran for almost 250 yards & 3 TDs on the Cowboys.

Guess you could make the case Luck was "mediocre or poor" against Oregon....his whole team was. I didn't see any of it live, so all I have to go on is the numbers and reporting. Anyone see the whole thing?

    http://espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=313160024

    Luck: 27-41 (65.8%), 256 yds (6.2), 3 TD, 2 INT, QB Rating 132.7 (NCAA), 87.0 (NFL)

I think this is the point that's being missed when many folks around the league's fanbases mention that he isn't working out for anyone. That might be his camp's policy officially, but if he REALLY wanted to workout for someone he would.

thats not too shabby either, I recall the second half of a baylor game where they lost pretty badly, Id be more concerned about that as Baylor played one decent defence all season. But I gotta say, RG3 has been doing a lot to change my mind, I love his demeanour in interviews, the fact that he is well spoken and quick witted really does remind me of Warren Moon when he playe for the eskimos up here. if he busts, it wont be because he didnt have the tools.
