I'm looking for a program, that converts online streaming videos (such as Youtube), to PC files, such as wmv, avi, mpg, etc.
Just having a hard time finding one that meets the following criteria :

- Must work on virtually any streaming video, and not just youtube.
- Must convert the entire video, and not just partial, like the trial offers such as Smart FLV Converter which only convert 70% of the video.
- Must be free.
- Must be also free of spyware, and any other technical glitches and hassles.

I've scoured the CNET site, and can't seem to find one that meets that criteria.
And no, it's not to download porn "tube" videos.
There's a good reason, it's just lengthy, and I just didn't want to make the post any longer than it is. And what I'm wanting to do, is perfectly legal, by the way.

Thanks

No, I copied and pasted the wrong link at first, but I edited it, the site you want to use is savevid.com. You copy the url of the video you want to download, then paste it in the search bar on the save vid site and click the download button. There's not a site I ever had a problem with.

I used to love camvideo, but I've had nothing but trouble with the most recent version - I wouldn't recommend it. They use something called JING at work, although from a quick glance at their website, looks like it limits you to 5 minute videos. I've heard good things about it if you don't need lengthier capability.

Okay I'm trying the "Any Video Converter" but I'm stuck.
I pasted the URL, then clicked convert. Then it goes to "Waiting" mode and just stays there. Then a pop-up comes up, with a dual message - on one hand it's asking me to buy some DVD ripper product. Underneath that, is a message that says "Your video conversion is completed. Click "Open Output Folder" button to view converted files."
But I click the button, and it opens the folder, and it's empty.
And the file still says it's in the "Waiting" mode.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong ?

EDIT : Maybe it's not able to download from this particular site, because I tested some random youtube file, and it worked with no problem. I'm trying to download a video from the "Ovi Share" site, which is run by Nokia. I'm getting the feeling this program doesn't support that.

Love the Savevid site - never seen it and it worked perfectly for me. Nice :)

For Ovi Share, your best bet would be to download camstudio. After you install it (it's a very small file) you can set the parameters for the recording area to any size you want. It works like doing a screen capture, but it does it until you hit the stop recording button.

When I first discovered it I was pissed, because it was so simplistic and superior to the other things I did in the past.
