Please don't tell me Crompton is next year's version of John Beck for Shanahan.
We go into training camp/preseason with Crompton as #1, and some other reject veteran QB as a backup.
Then we hear Shanahan say, "I had Crompton rated the #2 QB in the draft that year. I have a lot of confidence in Crompton. I have a lot of belief in Crompton. I believe in this guy. I’ve watched this guy for several years from a distance, and I like what he brings to the table. Now I get a chance to watch him on a daily basis in preseason, and have a decent shot at being our starter on opening day of 2012."

McCaskill has been on SEVEN teams rosters and practice squads since 2007?

If he turns out to be anything of value for the Redskins it will be the pickup of the century after having that many GMs pass on him.

Just the very first wave of camp fodder signings I'm sure.
Probably not anyone available of any value at this point anyway, before Free Agency even begins.

That's funny I was thinking the same thing! I like Crompton, he went to highschool about 15 min from my house and I work with both of his sisters but that being said I really hope he is not part of the QB plan in 2012 other than being the 3rd QB.

The thing is though, it would be beyond cool...IF...Crompton, having learned the system for a year, were to come out of nowhere and be "The Guy" we've all been waiting for around here. Wouldn't have cost us a thing, and we could do a repeat of last years draft, on the offensive side of the ball.

Yeah, yeah. It's a pipe dream. So what?

You got something better to do until the start of free agency?

Well, again, like Crompton, Beck also learned the system for a full year under McNabb/Grossman, before he started, and that didn't seem to help him in the slightest
