Game Notes: Washington Redskins at Miami Dolphins
• WR Leonard Hankerson posted career highs in receptions (eight) and receiving yards (106), eclipsing his previous highs of four receptions and 34 yards, set last week vs. San Francisco.
• Hankerson became the first Redskins’ rookie wide receiver to post 100 receiving yards in a game since Rod Gardner on Oct. 21, 2001 vs. Carolina, 162 regular season games ago.
• With Hankerson’s 106-yard effort Sunday and rookie RB Roy Helu’s 105-yard receiving effort vs. San Francisco last week, the Redskins have now had 100-yard receiving performances by different rookies in back-to-back weeks for the first time in team history.
• The Redskins became the first team to have two separate rookies post 100-yard receiving games in consecutive weeks since November 2008, when Peyton Hillis and Eddie Royal accomplished the feat for the Denver Broncos, coached at the time by current Redskins Executive Vice President/Head Coach Mike Shanahan.
• Rookie LB Ryan Kerrigan forced two fumbles on two sacks of Dolphins QB Matt Moore. The two forced fumbles give him four for the season, and his two sacks increased his sack total to 5.0.
• With his next forced fumble, Kerrigan will tie Ken Harvey (1995) and Bruce Smith (2000) for the second-most forced fumbles by a member of the Redskins in a single season (five), according to STATS, INC.
• LB Perry Riley received the first start of his career and tied S Reed Doughty for the team lead in tackles (nine).
• Riley recorded four tackles for loss, becoming the first member of the Redskins to do so since DE Kenard Lang had four against the New York Giants on Oct. 7, 2001, according to STATS, INC.
• CB Kevin Barnes intercepted his second pass of the season and the third of his career. His two interceptions in 2011 are a single-season career high for Barnes.
• Barnes returned the interception 30 yards, the team’s longest interception return since Week 16 of the 2010 season, when Carlos Rogers returned an interception 38 yards at Jacksonville.
• DE Stephen Bowen recovered a fumble in the third quarter. The fumble recovery was the first of Bowen’s career, which had spanned 71 games prior to Sunday.
• LB London Fletcher played in his 217th consecutive game, which is tied with Tampa Bay CB Ronde Barber for the most amongst active players. He started his 172nd consecutive game, the most among active linebackers.
• NT Barry Cofield recorded his sixth pass defensed of the season in the second quarter. His previous total of five was already a single-season career high.
• QB Rex Grossman completed 21-of-32 passes for 215 yards. His 65.6 percent completion percentage was his highest as a member of the Redskins and his best since completing 65.9 percent of his passes on Dec. 17, 2006 as a member of the Chicago Bears.
• RB Roy Helu added three receptions for 13 yards. Helu now has 29 receptions on the season, the most of any rookie running back as of the completion of Sunday’s 1 p.m. games.
• WR David Anderson caught his first pass as a member of the Redskins, securing a 14-yard reception in the second quarter.
• K Graham Gano made three field goals, marking the sixth time in his career and third time this season Gano has hit three or more field goals in a game.
• P Sav Rocca punted twice without a touchback, giving him zero touchbacks on 39 punts this season. Rocca is one of only two NFL punters with at least 35 punts to not have a touchback during the 2011 season.
