I was a supporter of Banks, but he just scaring the hell out of me at this point, and not producing anything special. I'm more surprised when he actually catches the ball cleanly....

Wasted roster spot at this point

Yeah. He's a waste of a roster spot. Period.

Banks hasn't produced since the middle of last season.

He continues to make poor decisions on when to bring the ball out and when to fair catch punts.

Agreed Miles. I thought maybe if he could get some offensive snaps I might change my mind, but that's not even happening. Cut him loose and put someone in who can make a difference.

He had a nice opener and since then... squat. Worse, today he started making multiple major mistakes in fielding and security. He can't afford to do that. He's a high risk/high reward player, but if you start seeing only the risk aspect playing through...

I agree. Don't see how we don't try to develop someone who can contribute to the team down the line with that roster spot.

I agree that Banks is more worthless than a virgin prostitute sworn to abstinence.

No reason to insult Mighty Mouse by comparing the two, though.

Niles Paul or Terrence Austin can return kicks. I don't know why the team still acts as if Banks is some secret weapon that will turn the outcomes of games.

Quite frankly, with the way the Redskins are playing worrying about Banks is the least of a team's issues in preparing for this team.

well...remember the change...most kickoffs are into the end zone or inside the 10. as for punt returns.....it wasn't like we had much of a return game before Banks.

The issue I have is ball security... His numbers are solid, but I think Austin could do as good.

Armchair Psychologist time... it's almost as though Banks knows the criticism, and wants desperately to prove his critics wrong. So instead of doing the smart thing and taking a knee or waving for the fair catch from time to time, he tries to show the world how great he is.

If he was the second coming of Devin Hester, that would be one thing. But he isn't.

We are not a good enough team to be able to fill a spot on the roster with a one-dimensional novelty act.

Cut him.

That's it. Good teams have the luxury of holding a roster spot for a return specialist. We do not have that luxury.

Sadly, Brandon Banks is the least of the Redskins issues. Unless you're Mike Shanahan, in which case everything is fine.

I agree with this. He's about number 12 on our list of concerns right now. I do wonder if that stabbing incident really did some damage.

And what is the story with your new avatar?:) Hysterical. I feel like I missed something.

I think Banks got full of himself last year. Problem is not this is causing him to make poor decisions. Ball security is a big issue.

The kickoff rule change isn't reason for his lack of production. The KR for Jets is averaging over 45 yrds a return.

Banks needs to go, but this team would be competitive with a halfway decent QB on the field. I can't believe more don't see it that way - Beck left so many yards on the field yesterday it was disgusting.

One play in particular stuck out in my mind - Beck had Gaffney and Hankerson streaking downfield, both open, and he threw to a double-covered Paulsen or Davis for an incompletion. I was screaming!
