CBS: Medical Staff Thinks Hightower Tore ACL

Too bad about Tim, but it happens unfortunately. Give the ball to the rookie. He's on the roster for a reason. Let Torain spell him. It's the one spot we have actual solid depth.

If confirmed, then promote Royster to the roster. Royster to the roster - eh, classic alliteration.

Time for the rookies to step up and gain a lot of experience.

Yep, bummer for Tim, but we should be looking at a youth movement across the board at this point anyway. Get Royster up and give Helu the ball!

Yep. Time to see if the rooks can be NFL players or not.

No real hope for the remainder of the season so let the rooks play and give the fans "something" to get a little excited about. I feel bad for Hightower but it will be a chance to get more of a look at Helu and, perhaps, Royster.

He is out for the year. More info to come.

Edited to add that Moss is out for at least a month.

Confirmed by Coach Shanahan - out for the season.

Santana is out five to seven weeks.

Cooley out four to six more weeks.

Fletcher has a hamstring injury. Unknown if he will miss any games.

Damn...I saw on Twitter that it wasn't an ACL tear; turns out that was a misdiagnosis (or I misread it). Anyway, sucks for Timmay - he finally found a home and now his future here is in jeopardy.

here's the problem: at 3-3 you know the coaching staff doesn't think the season is over.

Alas Al, you're right. We just lost back-to-back games to 1-4 teams. We beat the Giants (4-2), the Cards (1-4) and the Rams (0-6). That's ONE team that currently has a winning record. The coaching staff is paid to be optimistic. Unfortunately, we're not. :frown2:

Well, the coaching staff better not think it's over 'til the fat lady has sung. Same for the players. Once they surrender, they ought to be given the boot.

More good news:

Hearing word that TE Chris Cooley is going to be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

His season started... ?

Heh. Good point. Probably for the best, watching him hobble around out there was painful at times. Allowing Fred to develop more is not a bad thing, imo.

Two other points. First, how is it that Kyle could never get both of them on the field at the same time? Two TE sets work pretty darn well in NE, so why were we so opposed to them?

Second, could this be the last year Captain Chaos is a Redskins?
