If any of you NASCAR fans are interested, there will be an Aussie V8 race going live in to the US this weekend. I'm not sure what channel it will be on, but check out SPEED and see if they have it.

Considering the time difference, the race itself starts here at 10am on Sunday, so it should be about 7pm Saturday, US East Coast time. We are about 15 hours ahead.

This is the class that Marcos Ambrose drove, and he has won this particular race several times. It is 161 laps (hmm, that's not many) of a track that is 6.2kms (3.85mi) in length, and rises some 862 metres (2828 feet) above sea level, with a gradient of up to 1 in 6.13. The fastest lap is just a touch under 2min 07secs. Race distance is about 1000kms, or about 620 miles. This usually takes just over 6 hours.

Mt. Panorama is normally a public road, but come Bathurst 1000 week, the town, the track and it's surrounds are inundated with race fans. This is the one weekend I look forward to every year on our domestic race calendar.

Darryl Waltrip is at the track, commentating for SPEED channel, so in less than 30 minutes it will be 'Boogity, boogity, boogity, time to go racin'.
