Damn, serv.
Have to digest that a bit before trying to build any theories/conclusions ... but I can't help but notice what appears to be a distinct statistical uptick in the middle sectors of the field?
Of course, that might simply apply to all NFL QB's. Care to do a league-wide study?
Hmmm....I'll have to check on it but from what I've seen at ESPN's NFL stat site the detailed splits are only given for individual players which would make doing a league-wide analysis unfeasible. There are other sites I use for finding metrics-such as Pro Football Reference (one of the best available with very flexible search/sort options) and a few others that may have this type of information. I'll do some more digging and get back to you.
BTW, if anyone's interested, here's the link to the ESPN player stat splits on Grossman which will give you some idea of just how much info they have available-it's a lot.
His career stats: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/4480/rex-grossman
His splits for 2010 (changeable for any year in drop-down box at the top) very comprehensive:http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits/_/id/4480/rex-grossman
