Haven't done one of these in a couple of seasons, but got some unexpected inspiration. More on that in a bit....
Twas the night before Dallas, and all cross the land
twas much discontent, with Mike Shanahan.
The playoffs were gone so, why should they care,
as season's end soon would be there.
The faithful were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of victory danced in their heads.
And mamma in her 'teddy, and I in my chaps,
Had just settled in for some this and some that.
When back in my mind there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed the mood I did shatter.
Away to my man cave I flew like a flash,
And powered up the stereo in a cabinet of glass.
The moon through the window making things glow
Gave the luster of mid-day to an object below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
an old LP that’s been missing for many many years .
With a little screw driver, so lively and quick,
I changed out the needle which should do the trick.
More rapid than eagles glorious sounds they came,
And I sat there in bliss with highlights of games
"Now Sony! now, Billy! now, Charley and the linemen!
On, Brig! On, Chris! on, on Manny there all fine men!
To the top of the notch! to the top of it all!
There up for the challenge, they all hear the call!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
Our victories they mounted, the team was on high.
So into our house the Packers they came,
And the Redskins schooled them in playing the game.
And then, in a twinkling, from bottom to top
The pounding of bleachers, the chant would not stop
As I drew in my head, the team we would play,
I hoped in my hart, that we’d win today.
In Burgundy and Gold, from their heads to their feet,
This team is determined, they will not be beat.
A bundle of nerves like a greyhound on crack,
I must have looked like a madman, on the verge of attack.
My eyes-how they twinkled! my dimples how merry!
My cheeks were like roses, my nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
then my dad turned around and said on with the show.
The filter of a cigarette he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke encircled his head, it looked really neat.
He had a thin face and a round little belly,
he wasn’t that tall, and his feet were dam smelly!
He was grumpy and grouchy, a right salty old elf,
And when I think of him now, I might piss myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Dad reassured me I had nothing to dread.
They talked little smack, and went straight to their work,
And the packed stadium, just went berserk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
Billy took the snap, and off Charley goes!
He reaches the end zone, his team scream and whistle,
Knight kicks the point after, we’re hot as a pistol.
And I heard someone exclaim, at the end of the night,
"it’s been a great year, We’re Champions tonight"
WE WANT DALLAS
WE WANT DALLAS
WE WANT DALLAS

So I'm in the shop when our salesmen Bob (Giants fan) comes walkin up to me. He was partly out of view as he spoke about getting contaminated or something. As he comes into view, he says he was at the thrift store, and knew I would want what he had. I his hand was an LP, but couldn't make it out till he turned it to show the front cover.....

Now I don't know what something like this is worth, nor how common they were, but I've never seen one before. It was the season I chose the Skins as my team..... for life. The memories of a day with dad, and NFL glory are as fresh as when they happened.
It's omen from the football Gods I say, so stop griping about the many ways we suck, and get behind the team for this one with all your Redskins soul. It's Skins and Cowpukes for cryin out loud, and Karma can go a long way.
Hail To The Redskins !
