Silly Hypothetical Question....

just for poops and giggles...lets say mcnabb and the skins with a SB or 2 over the next few years.

i think that would CLEARLY put mcnabb into the HOF.....BUT.....

does he go in as a skin or a eagle?! :rockstar:

Never been 100% sure how that works ... whether the player has total say or if the teams or league have any input. In McNabb's case, given the awkward nature of his departure from Philly and lukewarm relationship with the fans there, it's not hard to imagine him opting for the burgundy and gold.

Of course, he's yet to get a load of what Redskins Nation can look, sound and feel like online on the Monday morning after a loss.

So maybe TWO Super Bowl's are in order.

Take note Donovan.

If that happened maybe the league could schedule the HOF game between the Skins and the Eagles. That would give the Eagles fans (at least the ones out on parole) one last chance to boo him.

Om, NFL players go into the hall of fame on whatever team they retired with. So, if McNabb wanted to go in as an Eagle, he'd ask to be released by the Skins, and then sign a one-day contract with the Eagles. Its not like baseball, where they have a panel of idiots decide which team the player should go into the hall as a member of; its essentially up to the player.

For example, after being cut by the Eagles, Monk sat out a season and then signed a one-day contract with the Skins in 1997 to go into the hall in burgundy & gold.

Edit: per the HOF he'd be both as a Redskin and a Eagle:

Is a New Hall of Fame Member Enshrined as a Member of a Team?

Obviously, teams take great pride in the accomplishments of individuals who have been a part of their organization. Often individual teams and even the Hall of Fame will list enshrinees according to the team or teams on which they spent a significant period of time. An enshrinee, however, is not asked to “declare,” nor does the Hall of Fame “choose” a team under which a new member is enshrined. When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for his accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor.
