Greetings to everyone here in BGO land and greetings to all of our friends on social media. We hope you become a member of the family here.

Welcome to the new 2019 in-season BBQ blog. The new structure this year for BBQ is better than ever before. We'll have Redskins news as needed and we will post a grades and prediction entry each week. BBQ thinks it will be an easier and better format to follow and it will afford us the opportunity to post relevant news on a continual basis.

The first entry today is a season schedule. Feel free to use it as a reference throughout the season. Let's get it started!

September 15 – Cowboys at Redskins

September 23 – Bears at Redskins

September 29 – Redskins at Giants

Burner's Burning Questions: Grades, Predictions, Evals, Questions, 2019 Season

Greetings to everyone here in BGO land and greetings to all of our friends on social media. We hope you become a member of the family here.

The new season is about to begin and the Redskins are facing another tough sixteen game schedule. In this first entry to our new in-season blog for 2019, we will make a game one prediction. Next week, we will grade game one and have a prediction for game two. This format will continue throughout the season and into the playoffs – if the Redskins advance to the post-season.

All of us would love to see a 16-0 record, but let's see if we can make some accurate prognostications along the way each week. Are you ready for some football?

Upcoming Dates:
- Days until the Regular Season Opener (Eagles): 3
- Days until the Cowboys game: 10
- Days until the Giants game: 24
- Days until the Vikings game: 48

Let's take a look at week one.

Week One: Redskins at Eagles

Site: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
Time: 1:00pm, EDT
Television: FOX

The Redskins open the season against the Eagles. Philadelphia has high hopes for the 2019 season and expectations of returning to the Super Bowl. Whenever these two teams meet, the encounter is usually intense and highly competitive. BBQ expects the game will be close, but the Eagles have a lot of talent and depth on both sides of the ball.
BBQ Prediction: Eagles 24 Redskins 20.

There is the first game prediction for the season. We'll post game grades next week and a prediction for the Cowboys game.

Yeah, and he's hoping we can't run or pass on Sunday.
He's hoping our QB gets killed.
And he hopes we lose.

**** him.

Get your fat ass into Ashburn.
Get your lazy ass in football shape so you might play in a few weeks without getting hurt.
STFU and do your goddamn job. Which, technically speaking, you've already been paid a sizeable advance on.

BB: before you posted I had it (in my mind) Iggles 24-13.

Let's hope we're both ashamed come Sunday evening! Let us also hope AX doesn't know where we live or the autos we putter around in to and fro.

I'm not hopeful for this game, but you never know when a surprise is lurking.

Who would have thought a couple of years ago that a team (Vikings) would be picked to win their division and advance in the playoffs with Kirk Cousins at quarterback throwing to Josh Doctson.

It seems like something out of the twilight zone :behindsofa:

This is how I feel about this Sunday, Tom is even sporting the 'R' hat!

Burner's Burning Questions: Grades, Predictions, Evals, Questions, 2019 Season

Greetings from BBQ to everyone here at BGO. We hope your weekend is going well. Hello to everyone on social media. We'd love to have you as a member here and become a part of the family.

The Redskins 2019 off-season is over and a new season begins tomorrow. Will the Redskins score an upset win in Philadelphia? Will the Eagles put the Redskins in an early season bind? We'll have the answers by late afternoon.

Today, we introduce a new feature to the in-season blog – an instant grade for a team decision. BBQ will post such grades as the situation dictates.

Upcoming Dates:
- Days until the Regular Season Opener (Eagles): 1
- Days until the Cowboys game: 8
- Days until the Giants game: 22
- Days until the Vikings game: 46

Today's Redskins News:
The Redskins will make roster moves today and that is our focus. Jordan Reed has been ruled out for tomorrow's game due to concussion symptoms. It is unknown at this time if he will miss more than one game or if his season is in jeopardy. Multiple reports suggest Reed could be ready to go within the next week or so.

As a result of today's decision, the Redskins have activated tight end J.P. Holtz from the practice squad and released wide receiver, Robert Davis. This move leaves the Redskins with five receivers for now.

Davis had a superb training camp and preseason. Releasing him seems a bit strange. Why didn't the Redskins simply make Reed inactive this week and keep Davis on the active roster? He could be scooped up by another team in the same way when Simmie Cobbs was added to the Saints roster just prior to the 2018 season.

The Redskins are hoping to have the services of Reed next week and re-sign Davis back to the active roster. If it works out, then this move will be the correct call. However, BBQ believes this is not the best move today. What do you think of this decision? What grade would you give the Redskins?

BBQ Grade: C-

D.

Why not IR McCoy(designated to return) and keep Davis safe on the roster?

Exactly.

Gruden is playing favorites in keeping McCoy on the active roster despite the fact he cannot even make it through practice without a limp.

In releasing Davis he is showing he doesn't care about the team after 2019 b cause he likely won't be here.

This is when a good front office steps in and says NO.

The team can make it through one game with two tight ends.

Well, McCoy could win us a game sometime this season. Especially if the line gets 2 more QB's hurt this season.
Davis, not so much.

The FO played it right with Cam Sims. Though many thought he wouldn't clear waivers either. And I'd guess most here, forced to choose between protecting Cam, or Davis, would have chosen Cam.

Stop itching to bitch about the FO.

You know Ax...it would be so easy to respond......but it is gameday and this FO has robbed whatever joy there is left in pulling for this team that I will protect the little sliver of hope they haven't yet buried six feet deep.

So kick arse skins!

A little more insight to the Adrian Peterson story.

And more.

This FO just can't get it right. It's tied in to Trent somehow.

I'll save the expletive deleteds for another time.
