2019 Keys to the Game Contest

We forfeit at the coin toss and just avoid the embarrassment

Jeremy Sprinkle TD seals the deal on this Super Upset Sunday.

Redskins Win!!!

Colt throws a pick 6 in the 1st quarter and it only get uglier from there.

In a battle for the top pick in the 2020 draft, the new coach displays something we haven't seen all season - a running game. AP chews up the Dolphins and spits them out, and our offense, defense and special teams each score a TD.

So the talk all week has been about establishing the run game. The coaches know that Miami is listening and will be geared up to stop the run. First play is a play-action bomb for a touchdown to McLaurin. Redskins never look back. Being ahead on the scoreboard allows them to then effectively use the running game, rather than having to pass while playing catch up.

Turnovers. San Fran turns it over 4 times. We turn it over, zero.

San Fran 14

I'm going to give the win for the Miami game to China who correctly IDed McLaurin and the run game as huge factors in a win.

China - if you'll message @Om he'll get your prize on the way to you.

Sprinkle time! Niners defense puts over focus on McLaurin and AP letting Sprinkle go apeshit for his 1st 100 yard day and 2 td's.

Bonus key: AP still gets 100 on the ground

The 49ers are on fire. However, every fire is extinguished at some point.

While they are still the far better team at this point in the season - the combination of a new coaching style, the ability to establish a run game, and a WR in McClaurin that is proving more each week to be a real threat, we keep their heads spinning all day.

Fueled by a combination of decent play from the Redskins and the 49ers beating themselves and never really putting much together, we walk away with a win that isn't as close as the final score indicates. The 49ers get a TD in garbage time, and the Redskins win 26-20.

The Redskins never seem to know how to cover a tight end. George Kittle scores 2 TDs in the first half and then sits out the second half to rest his injury. Washington isn't built to come from behind and with San Fran's strong defense they don't come close. SF coasts to a 27-10 victory.

No winners this week (who could have predicted that mess of a game?)... better luck with the Vikings game if anyone's feeling brave :)

Montez Sweat's strip sack of The Greedy Lying Bastard seals the deal for a Redskins win.

Kurt lights us up in embarrassing fashion with 4 TD passes, and runs off the field yelling, "YOU LIKE THAT?" We suffer our biggest loss of the season.

Vikings 37
Redskins 10

We've hit rock bottom. There's no reason to have faith in this team as long as Bruce still has a job.

The defense continues to improve their play.

But the key is McLaurin's 2 scores.

Redskins 20
Bills 16

McDermott looks to rebound after a good old fashion butt whooping they took against the Eagles...luckily for them this game is at home against one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Trent Murphy gets 2 sacks against his old team, the Bills defense doesn't let much happen for a poor Redskins' offense, and they slide to a comfortable 20-6 win over the Skins.

The only thing worse than the cold in Buffalo this weekend is our offense. Turnovers by the Redskins will be the keys to Buffalo's easy victory.

Bills 27
Redskins 6

Our key to victory would be ball control and T.O.P. towering over the Bills. The short/intermediate game should help Haskins gain his confidence and avoid more interceptions. I don't see us winning but I do think the offense steps up and DH gets his first td with his bud Scary.

Skins 20
Bills 26

Coming off of three straight games without a TD for the first time in franchise history, the Redskins seem lost and are desperate to try anything. This approach blows up in their face, as they make NFL history by becoming the first team to ever post a loss during the bye week.

The Lions roll into FedEx, and we roll over and play dead. Haskins has a good day, but the key to the game is how well our defense plays - for Detroit. We gift them TDs with bad coverage, and they steamroll us at home.

Lions 30
Redskins 9
