In an instagram post, Niles Paul announced his retirement from the NFL. For a good stretch Niles Paul was our best special teams player, had a few game winning catches, and won the Ed Block courage award. While he never lived up to some hype surrounding him when he arrived in DC, he worked hard, and performed his best for us. I wish him the best and thank him for his years as a member of the Washington Redskins.

Good luck to him! Aside from his play, it seemed like EVERY Skins charity/community event - he was there.

Paul was always a mystery to me here in DC.

Drafted as a wide receiver you would figure he would have a distinct advantage working in the passing game against NFL safeties and linebackers, but it never materialized.

Perhaps he wasn't good enough to carry it off, but it's not like the team gave him a long audition or anything as a receiver.
