REDSKINS-TEXANS GAME NOTES

• The Washington Redskins dropped a 23-21 decision to the Houston Texans at FedExField on Sunday.
• The Redskins forced three turnovers (2 interceptions and a forced fumble). The Redskins have now forced at least one turnover for the 14th consecutive week dating back to last season. The Redskins currently have the longest active streak in the NFL.
• The Redskins have now forced three or more turnovers in consecutive games for the first time since Weeks 3 and Weeks 4 of the 2016 season.
• With the three turnovers, the Redskins have forced three or more turnovers in three games this season. It is the first time Washington has forced three or more turnovers in three or more games since 2016, when the team forced that many turnovers in four games.
• The Redskins finished with three sacks and have now registered at least one sack for the 17th consecutive game. Depending on the outcome of several contests, Washington currently has the fifth longest active streak in the league.
• Quarterback Alex Smith completed 12-of-27 pass attempts for 135 yards with two interceptions. Smith also rushed for 33 yards on four carries (8.3 avg,).
• Quarterback Colt McCoy made his 2018 regular season debut after Alex Smith suffered an ankle injury with 7:56 remaining in the third quarter. McCoy completed 6-of-12 pass attempts for 54 yards and one touchdown for a passer rating of 90.3. He also rushed for 35 yards for five carries (7.0 avg.).
• McCoy threw his first touchdown pass in a regular season contest since Week 17 of the 2015 season when he went 7-for-11 for 128 yards and one touchdown.
• Running back Adrian Peterson rushed for 51 yards on 16 attempts and two touchdowns. With his seven-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, Peterson (105) passed Pro Football Hall of Famer John Riggins for sixth all-time in NFL history in rushing touchdowns.
• With his two rushing touchdowns in the game, Peterson (26) moved into sole possession of fourth place on the NFL's list of career games with multiple rushing touchdowns in a game. He passed Shaun Alexander (25), Marcus Allen (25) and Priest Holmes (25).
• Wide receiver Josh Doctson collected three receptions for 32 yards.
• Running back Byron Marshall made his 2018 debut after being activated from the Injured/Reserve List from an injury suffered during the preseason.
• Tight end Jordan Reed recorded a game high seven receptions for 71 yards (10.1 avg.) and one touchdown. It was Reed's first touchdown catch since Week 1.
• Wide receiver Trey Quinn recorded his first career reception and finished with four catches for 49 yards. Quinn returned to the lineup after the team activated him from the Reserve / Injured List after sustaining an injury in Week 1 at Arizona Cardinals.
• Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix registered 13 tackles (11 solo) with one forced fumble.
• Linebacker Mason Foster finished with 10 tackles (nine solo), one interception, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery. Foster has recorded 10 or more tackles in a single game for a career best, six games in a season.
• Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan started his 122nd consecutive regular season game, the longest active streak among active NFL linebackers. Kerrigan has not missed a start in his NFL career.
• Kerrigan remains as one of six NFL players (and only three non-quarterbacks) to have started every game since the start of the 2011 season (Brandon Carr, Patrick Peterson, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford).
• Kerrigan finished the game with one sack and two quarterback hits and now has 6.5 sacks on the season and 78.0 for his career. Kerrigan is now five sacks shy from passing Charles Mann (82) for No. 2 on the Redskins all-time list in career sacks.
• Linebacker Preston Smith recorded four tackles (three solo) and one sack for 12 yards, two quarterback hits, one interception, and one pass defensed. Smith has recorded at least one sack in back-to-back games since recording a sack in Week 15 and Week 16 of the 2017 season.
• Safety DJ Swearinger Sr. recorded three solo tackles, one pass defensed and one sack. The sack was Swearinger's first in 2018 and increases his career total to 4.5.
