REDSKINS ACQUIRE DRAFT PICKS FROM DENVER

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have acquired a fourth-round pick, two fifth-round picks and a conditional pick from the Denver Broncos in exchange for safety Su'a Cravens, a fourth-round pick and a fifth-round pick.

“The move to trade Su'a is good for both organizations,” Redskins Senior Vice President of Player Personnel Doug Williams said. “We wish him well.”

Details of the trade are included below.

The Washington Redskins acquire:
2018 fourth-round pick (No. 109 overall)
2018 fifth-round pick (No. 142 overall)
2018 fifth-round pick (No. 163 overall)
*Conditional pick in 2020

The Denver Broncos acquire:
S Su'a Cravens
2018 fourth-round pick (No. 113 overall)
2018 fifth-round pick (No. 149 overall)

*Full conditions governing this pick were not disclosed.

In addition, the Redskins announced that they have waived running back LeShun Daniels.

Making the best of a bad situation. There was no way Cravens could come back to the Redskins have anyone trust that he was going to have his teammates' backs.

A guy quitting on the team like he did last year is akin to what Kerry Collins did in Carolina. The Panthers had to get rid of Collins after he walked out on the team during practice.

I wish the picks were higher, but the truth is Cravens has not yet established himself at an NFL position and has not shown he can make it through a 16 game schedule.

This was really Scot McCloughan's fault though. Due diligence on Craven's history going back to USC would show a super athlete who didn't necessarily show that he was 'all in' in terms of a long-term career in the NFL.

Seeing that borne out in college, McCloughan in Round 2 should have selected a player without as many question marks that high up.
