Free Agency, Mock Drafts, Camps, Roster Predictions, 2018

And DP - I know we've (I've) beaten on you for the uber negativity this offseason, but that doesn't mean we don't get it. We know you're a great fan. Just frustrated and longing for better days like the rest of us :)

Richardson is a relative bargain at that price. High ceiling too. Like this one :)

Now if we could somehow get one of the DTs in the top group and find a way to keep Zach Brown.......

I think if we were going to re-sign Brown we'd know it already, but just my feeling. Betting Wilkerson is a done deal.

Reminds me a little of Desean.

I will say this, Skins' fans are tired of the poor FA acquisitions over the years, but the Eagles proved that you can spend money on players in FA and use the draft. They are doing it again this year, trading for Bennet and signing Suh to a one year deal that is easy for them to eat if he doesn't pan out.

You have to sign a big name or two in FA while you build in the draft or you'll never compete...even the Patriots do it.

The Redskins should have splashed on Robinson. I don't care if Richardson is a deal, he's a deal for a reason!

I must say I like the Richardson deal quite a bit.

Many people were banging the table for us to resign Desean. Richardson gives us the speed element we sorely lacked with Jackson leaving, the money was reasonable, and he's a player entering what should be the prime of his career.

In this case, showing a bit of patience and making sacrifices at the receiver position (by letting DJax walk) for a year might prove to be a very smart business decision provided Richardson can continue to progress.

DeSean Jackson was injured at times and there were some plays where he simply put in no effort. Sure, there were times when he made those long plays pay off. Richardson is not as talented as Jackson, but he doesn't lay down on occasion like Jackson did.

Richardson continued to try to get open whenever Russell Wilson had to scramble and it paid off a number of times. His routes over the middle in the red zone are solid. That speed allows him to get separation over the middle and corners can't keep up with him near the end zone. He will draw some doubles in the red zone as well and that will open up Docton, Crowder, Reed, and Thompson.

Richardson is a solid signing. And it is for five years. No, he is not the reincarnation of Jerry Rice, but this was the right receiver to get. John Keim said Richardson was the number one target at receiver for the front office and the team knew Allen Robinson would cost too much. It pains me to say it, but Bruce Allen did good here.

BB, a little off topic, but I've seen a few folks on twitter mention interest in the RB McKinnon out of Minny.

You heard anything on that?

I haven't heard or seen anything. Thinking that Isaiah Crowell is still a target.

Another one bites the dust...dang it

No Wilkerson signing impending...

Both DRC and Wilkerson have left Redskins Park w/no word of any deals forthcoming.

Here is a pretty good breakdown of Richardson.

I would also take a serious look at Jordy Nelson. He is 33 and not the WR he once was, but he still caught 56 passes and 6 TD's last year without Aaron Rodgers throwing to him. We still need a veteran presence on the edge. Last year I screamed for it, it was ignored by many, and we saw how the young players were incapable of stepping up. This would give us a solid veteran who is still capable of catching passes.

Watch, he'll end up in Philly.
