Free Agency, Mock Drafts, Camps, Roster Predictions, 2018

Well...there goes my hope that we see our 2nd round, risky draft pick go out and rush for more yardage than Ezekiel Elliott so I can rub it in the Turds' fans faces!

Alex Smith will throw the ball 50 times a game now.

For the first time in 3 seasons I was actually excited about a season...I know he's just one player, and I thought his performance last night was just good, it still makes me wonder if we are indeed a cursed team.

Samaje Perine to me is not an answer at running back, even as a bridge.

Yes, he's a #4 pick and the team is going to give him every chance now to make plays and be a contributor, but his skills just don't seem to be there to an impact player at this level.

He is not particularly fast, he's not nimble at making the first guy miss after taking the hand-off, he's not a particularly good receiver out of the backfield.

I think he's an example of a player who was well-suited to success in the spread offense he played in college.

If it were me, I would be looking for another back to come in and play with Robert Kelley in 2018 if the team is not willing to give Byron Marshall a shot at a bigger role, which may very well be warranted.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment BD. With the caveat that he was a rook, beyond running hard and tough, not a lot to compliment in terms of speed, vision, and feel for the developing hole. I don't know if we've seen his best but so far he just looks like an average RB. I would also like to see Bibbs get more opportunities. We have a smash 'em RB in Kelley and 3rd down specialist in CT. We need some lightning to the 'thunder' (to the extent we have 'thunder' :)). I don't know that anyone we bring in is going to be any better than the guys we currently have, and it would be a big mistake to trade capital to fill a 1 year hole.

Carted off the field earlier. Waiting for any news.

BB, just for giggles, is there anyone among these draft picks that you would rather have, over Hamilton ?
I ask, because since it's obvious the Hogan trade was a waste, these are the prospects we could have taken over Hamilton, had we not swapped 6th rounders with the Browns.

Simeon Thomas CB Louisiana
Kamrin Moore CB Boston College
Deshon Elliott S Texas
Dylan Cantrell WR Texas Tech
Jamil Demby G Maine
Chris Covington OLB Indiana
Russell Gage WR LSU
Sebastian Joseph DT Rutgers
Tremon Smith CB Cent Arkansas

Hogan trade was not a waste. He is going to the practice squad (is eligible) and will have this season and next off-season to learn this offense. No one wanted Colt McCoy three years ago. Just saying.

Hamilton had ten tackles Thursday night and had an excellent game. He looks like a huge steal in the 6th. He is a keeper.
