Are you saying it's real? And it's spectacular? :)

I'm still getting 5-6 a day.

And while my email not be as spectacular as BB's, it is indeed valid.

You might say, bonafide.

Thanks for the info guys - again, I apologize. I will either disable this email bounce PM thing or disable the modification itself if I'm not able to do that. I am not sure why folks with valid email addresses would be getting that message to begin with.

The ultimate goal is to have a site newsletter that we send out every so often to encourage those not visiting regularly to come participate. Members will be able to turn off that option if they like in their user options. And no one ultimately should be getting PMs if they have a valid email account. Bear with us. If I can't get the kinks worked out shortly, we'll just turn it off.

Ax/BB, do you guys have a particular 'spam blocker' in use? If so, can you look and see if it is blocking emails from bgobsession.com (it's fine if you are, I'm just trying to figure out why the newsletter mod would be IDing your email as 'invalid'). I'm wondering if the mod just assumes that emails that don't go through and get 'bounced back' are due to an invalid email address, when the real reason might be that you are blocking certain emails (or your antivirus believes they are spam or malicious and is blocking them). I'm trying to remove that PM function altogether, but just wondered what you have set up on your email accounts?

Then they are being blocked ...I've sent out several site upgrade emails this week alone

I had blocked BGOverdrive the other day, to try and stop the pm's. It just switched the user to Urgent. Nothing else blocked to my knowledge. haven't blocked anyone since the day I joined. Antivirus is the same. Had been receiving the newsletter just fine. Been getting like notifications from bgo via email too.

Thanks Ax - I'm still working on this as it appears those irritating PMs are still being sent ...

Yeah, I deleted that 'BG Overdrive' account - it doesn't really matter because that mod was going to send PMs no matter what. We think we have that resolved now so you all should not receive any more of those PMs. If you do, please let me know in this thread. This newsletter is a much more complicated one than the little simple one we were using. BB - you and Ax and others who were getting emails blocked for some reason should receive the first newsletter on Saturday. Let me know if you get it please.

Also - if any one has received it, I'd like to know and also if you have any feedback on the appearance, content, etc... I've already made some tweaks to it since we sent out our first test version yesterday.

The search function does not work at all, when I search by username.
I'll give an example, to verify it. I'll take a word from this last post I made.
https://www.bgobsession.com/showthread.php?t=110183&page=41&p=344980#post344980
The word "burst".
If I type that word into Advanced Search, and then type in my username below it (spelling is not an issue, because it's auto-completing my name), and the only other search criteria I checked was "Posts from the last 6 months", it tells me "Sorry, no matches".
Whether it's that search, or any other search in which I'm 100% certain that results should come up, it comes up with nothing. The same thing happens when I do a Search within a thread, it doesn't bring up results that it should.

I will look into it - but I suspect since this is a brand new install of vBulletin that it's just basic issues with 'search' in vBulletin. I know that there are a lot of discussions out there regarding the limitations of it. In other words I doubt it is something I can 'troubleshoot'. I'll definitely look at the settings available. There are some options - we have a modification where you can find all of your OWN posts and threads. I've built that into the navbar at the top of every page. There is also an option on each individual member's profile page to find their latests posts. I'm not offering those as an alternative to a great search tool, just mentioning them...

Is anyone having any issues with Virus/Website checker blocking this site?

I've got a new PC that has a free year of McAfee on it. With that is a Chrome extension that scans websites to see if they are malicious. Randomly over the last few weeks and most recently this morning, I'll be on a BGO page fine, but then I get re-directed to a McAfee website with a message saying 'Sorry, we couldn't find the page you were looking for.' The one that was just displaying mind you. :) If I disable the extension, I can browse the sign without issue.

I'll be reaching out to McAfee, but wanted to see if anyone else experienced this. I've only seen the behavior with this site.

Have you cleared your browser cache/history, and logged back into the site cleanly using 'https://www.bgobsession.com'? Are you using a bookmark that you created previously to visit the general site, or a specific forum? If so, you need to delete those bookmarks, clear your browser cache/history, and (if you want to use one) recreate your bookmark.

After it happened the first time, I did come in cleanly by typing the url. I hadn't cleared cache because at one time I had reproduced the error in IE (I'm usually in Chrome). Since that doesn't seem to be happening again, I'll try the cache. It just feels odd that I can be on the page fine then all of a sudden it routes me to the McAfee page. In fact, it happened well I was typing my response the first time.

Well, I cleared my cache with still the same issue. This PC is just over a month old, so I wouldn't have thought I would have had anything real old in there.

Anyway, after an hour on chat with McAfee they weren't a ton of help with my specific problem. We uninstalled/reinstalled the browser extension. When we went to the main url, after that, McAfee gave a warning for the site. We added it to my 'Trusted Sites' so I could continue. I asked them how we figure out why McAfee is flagging the site as potentially malicious. They said to go to trustedsource.org to understand why and potentially fix it since that's their source for flagging.

I put in the website and it comes back in their database as Medium Risk. Attaching here. Is this something you guys had to deal with before when you had the issues? I figure I'll go ahead and report my disagreement, but thought you should know.

Looks to me that the problem is their secondary categorization for spyware/adware/keylogging.

Our url is https://www.bgobsession.com. We installed an SSL certificate in order to avoid getting flagged a number of months ago. Are you still reaching the site using just the 'http:' url? If so - that's likely your problem....

I will check our firewall vendor, but as far as I know we haven't been 'flagged' since implementing some major security upgrades...

*** doesn't seem to matter if you use 'https' - still flags as a 'Medium Risk'... I have no idea. I did submit a review request and communicated the security measures we have in place. There is zero rationale for us not having a clean bill of health.

I hadn't noticed the https since the changes. I think as you saw I just put in www.bgobsession.com without http or https and it seems to default to http in the result.

Maybe they haven't updated it since the issues a few months ago? I don't know enough about this side of things.

The only thing I've noticed at least so far is that when I log in and it goes to redirect, I get an error that it's an invalid redirect url and gives the http (as opposed to https).
