We got a Google notification earlier today. We are checking on it. I don't know if someone's inserted some malicious code or if it's related to an arbitrary requirement Google is trying to impose on websites requiring a secure 'https://' SSL certificate. For the time being, I would use a browser other than Google Chrome to use the site while we investigate. I don't think anyone needs to worry about their security in that we don't require credit card info or anything like that here. We'll keep you posted.

We do have our vendor and a security specialist working on cleaning up the site and improving our firewall guys. It's a process and we hope to have everything back to normal by mid-week. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Still getting "dangerous site warning"but I'm getting it with Firefox, not Chrome. (I do get it with Chrome.)

We're disappointed this has taken so long. Given the web these days, getting serious about our security by hiring a professional firm to deep-clean the site, plus install a state-of-the-art firewall, is undoubtedly a good thing. That it has taken this long (we started the process nearly a week ago), not so much. Hard to know how much of the delay was SOP for this kind of job vs just plain old poor customer service, but we'll be keeping a close eye on things for a while to make sure this is indeed the long-term security partner we want to stay with.

I know it sounds trite and all, but again ... sincere thanks to you all for your patience, understanding and class through all of this.

The latest, btw, is that the request went in to Google yesterday for them to rescan the site and hopefully take us off the bad hombres list asap. Word is that can take "up to 72 hours," but we're hoping that's worst-case and it will be any time now.

Yeah, definitely wondering what kind of SLA you guys have, cause a service level like this seems to be a bit ridiculous. Google usually doesn't take as long, in my experience, but sad that your provider couldn't get it sooner.

I searched google for the site just now on a new computer and the link is way down the first page. Used to be the first thing listed, then when I click on it I get deceptive site bs warnings in firefox so I had to change my settings.

You guys must've tripped their "fake news" sensor or something haha.

Sorry for all the trouble you guys are having to go through. It sounded like you thought the site may be clean and Google just needed to give it the all clear, so I turned back on my virus checking and it still found issues on the site. I was able to grab screenshots with partial names of a few of the files. I'll share here in case it helps.

We are hopefully in the last stages of resolving our post-hacking issues guys. It's just a matter of Google clearing us at this point - hopefully in the next 24 hours.

I understand you guys are working feverishly and earnestly on fixing this, and well-informed on the status, so just for informational purposes, if this reveals anything new, I'm just sharing a scan result just done today on this "Sucuri Sitecheck", which states BGO has been hacked, blacklisted, etc.
If you go to https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/ and type in http://www.bgobsession.com you get the following result.

Warning: Your Website Has Been Blacklisted !

Website: www.bgobsession.com
Status: Site Potentially Harmful. Immediate Action is Required.
Web Trust: Blacklisted (10 Blacklists Checked): Indicates that a major security company (such as Google, McAfee, Norton, etc) is blocking access to your website for security reasons. Please see our recommendation below to fix this issue and restore your traffic.
Scan Result Severity
Website Blacklisting Detected Critical
Site Likely Compromised Detected Critical
Website Firewall Not Found Medium Risk

Your site appears to be hacked. Hacked sites can lose nearly 95% of your traffic in as little as 24 to 48 hours if not fixed immediately – losing your organic rankings and being blocked by Google, Bing and many other blacklists. Hacked sites can also expose your customers and readers private and financial information, and turn your site into a host for dangerous malware and illicit material, creating massive liability.

I don't think anyone needs to worry about their security in that we don't require credit card info or anything like that here.

If the site is truly hacked/phished, as the scan above states, isn't the ultimate intention, as well as the hackers' capability, to hack into all personal info on the whole device they are using, and not merely just the personal info contained on that website alone ?

We've had a security company clear whatever malware there was and install a better firewall. The issue now is getting off Google's list and it is not an easy process. But that's why we don't believe there's serious risk currently. Obviously up to individual members if they feel better not visiting until we are officially okay.
