Cruising around the web and perusing Twitter, Mike Jones of the Post is blathering on that there is now friction between Bruce and Scot.

Apparently,Bruce doesn't like the credit that Scot gets and wants it known that Scot's just in charge of Player Personnel and that he is really the GM.

Jones contends that there is alot of pressure being put on Scot to hit it out of the park this offseason or Bruce will put him on the hot seat.

What do you guys/gals think? True or false?

IMO, if Bruce screws this up and runs Scot off, there is no hope for this franchise.

What say you?

I think Scot does need to hit this draft out of the park.

Scot needs to have a good draft this year, but Bruce needs to go. Period.

Oh, I think the team needs to have a very good offseason.

At the same time,if this stuff is true, how in the hell can you talk of building through the draft and then in year three of his tenure, start hinting around about pushing the first real personnel guy that the club has had in over 20 years, out the door?

I'd say bullshit fake news story. Most coming out of the Washington ComPost is anti team jargon.

If by the slimmest chance in hell The Bruce is playing the jealous bitch then he needs to go back to Tampa and Scott stays imo. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Honestly I think Snyder needs to show Bruce the door. From things I saw if things don't go well this season then Snyder may have house cleaning.

Bruce seems better suited for smoozing with the alumni. Not crazy about his uniform color choices.

I don't think Scot needs to hit on just the draft, but free agency as well. This team is in a position to do exactly what the Giants did by signing a number of young, quality Free Agents on top of their draft success. There is no reason we cannot turn our defense around the same way the Giants did...and if Scot's as good as I thought 3 years ago when I clamored for him, then he better prove it. I would expect 2 of the 1st 3 picks in the draft to go to DL/CB, but there are a number of high quality free agents we can acquire to help fill the holes we have. I am really hoping we can sign a fast, talented ILB who will make up for the lack of speed of Compton, so we can keep Compton in there to run the defense. I think that might be a pipe dream, Compton just ca'n make up for his lack of speed.

Scot is far from perfect. But then, so is everybody that isn't me. ;)

But Scot is the safest guy in the building, after Snyder, IMHO. Picking talent out of todays watered down pool of choices is the toughest job going. Scot's playing roulette. I assume everybody talking about him having to hit it out of the park, continuously walks into the casino with $20 and leaves the roulette wheel with a gazillion dollars. Bold talk for no experience whatsoever.

Damn few people in the building earned their pay last year. From FO to waterboy. Scot gets the most leeway in my mind. Can't think of a coach, or player, that isn't more easily replaced than him. He gets his full 5 years. Especially since he inherited the head coach.

Oh, and WaPo? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Hell I thought his job was symbolic only. Especially since Mcluvs arrived

Bruce,Scot and the Front Office.

Mike Jones takes some assumption - 'Bruce Allen doesn't want Scot McCloughan talking to the press!' and turns it into some grand conspiracy theory. The Post is a ****ing rag and Jones has joined the grand tradition of muckrakers and outright rumor mongers that the Post has specialized in for more than a decade.

Washington Post? National Enquirer of sports...I'd say the National Lampoon but they actually have some redeeming social value. I have serious doubts to the accuracy of the report, doesn't mean it's not true though.

Bruce,Scot and the Front Office.

He didn't even bother citing an 'unnamed source'. He literally took an instance of McCloughan 'unavailability' and extrapolated the rest of his bullshit theorizing from that. The Posts Redskins coverage is about as spot on as their political coverage.

Let me write an accurate article based on the facts:

"Redskins Front Office members are under increasing pressure to produce results after a disappointing 2016 season that saw them narrowly miss a playoff spot, largely due to an inept defense and subpar running game"

There's your ****ing headline.

When I read this crap, I just think of The Wire Season 5.

I thought or hoped we were over the drama by now. RG3 is gone and we are slowly getting rid of the cancer guys.

I just want us to be quiet and under the radar.

I think there is still alot of animosity between the Redskins and the comPost.

Even in times of franchise peace, they're going to find a way to stir the pot.

I'm not well versed in all of the DC media but from just reading Twitter, seems like that Chris Russell guy revels in stirring up crap too.

That's the point - who says there is drama? I mean besides so called 'journalists' who have a rooting interest in manufacturing it?

Exactly, Boone.

There is no story, so they try to create one. Something to try and justify them having a job.
