This may or may not be of interest to most. If you own a VW it is something worth watching.

"CARB rejected Volkswagen's recall plan because it contained gaps and lacked sufficient detail. The agency said Volkswagen's descriptions of proposed repairs lacked enough information for a technical evaluation and did not adequately address overall impacts on vehicle performance, emissions and safety."

California...the place where they are supposed to be the most "forward thinking" when it comes to cleaner energy and alternative lifestyles is rejecting this.

reason # 34523423254235 why we are leaving.

Elon Musk, the founder and owner of TESLA, has suggested that rather than fine VW the possible $61bill, VW should be made to use that money to develop a zero emission engine.

Cali has always led the country in the tightest emissions regulations, and normally follows what's happening in Europe. In 88 Europe stiffened emissions standards, and in 90, the US adopted the same standard calling it BAR 90, first in Cali, then NY. Cali is rejecting it because they know the VW proposal is a band aid in an effort to slip by. Tricking the system to pass is what screwed them to begin with. Trying to fix a mechanical issue with software changes can only do so much. So, VW is trying to do the same thing again, but being under intense scrutiny, there plan isn't flying. When it's stated that Cali has rejected it, it really means the Fed Gov has rejected it in essence. I do have an interest in this, but do feel that they should be hammered with fines. Ducati was purchased by Audi, and I would hate to see R&D effected by this, but VW flat out misrepresented their "Clean Diesel", and met compliance by trickery.

This isn't Cali being dumb, their sticking to their guns.
