    The Bombshell

Until there is ink on the contract, no deal is really done. Especially when the guy selling has no honor. Dan is going to entertain any offer he wants as long as he owns the team.

    The Bombshell

I have wondered the same, Chris. With the NFL's current rules for financing the purchase of a franchise, we have a very small pool of individuals who could realistically buy a team. That pool is only going to get smaller as team values increase. Honestly, waiting for Middle Eastern countries...

Taylor Heinicke - Thank you to the fans

    Class kid. Seriously.

    The Bombshell

You are correct, sir. Dan is absolutely one of those guys who could not afford to buy an NFL team today if he didn't already own one. The sad thing is that if he had run this thing correctly, he could be worth a lot more today.

    The Bombshell

The answer is almost none of them. From the numbers I've seen, I'm thinking somewhere between 6 and 10 of the current owners could buy a team today if they didn't already own one. Might not be the team they have now, either. In fact, if you remove the value of the team, a fair number of them...

    Random NFC East Thoughts

I don't know how they are doing it. It is cheap in terms of compensation to Houston but Cooks current contract counts $26M against the cap. Granted, some of that will stay in Houston as they have to absorb previously paid bonuses but even so, Cooks current contract has a base salary in 2023 of $18M.

    Where Does the Money Go?

So, the breakdown of the Bottom 8 vs the Top 8 is interesting. How I determined Top 8 and Bottom 8 - Top 8 were the 8 teams that advanced to the Divisional Round of the playoffs and the Bottom 8 are the teams that would have drafted in the first 8 slots in the 2023 draft if no trades had...

    Where Does the Money Go?

I may or may not have done most of this work over a beer (or two), SO. Every team in the Final 8 has at least one QB in the Top 10 except for Philly and with them talking to Hurts about an extension, I that its only a matter of time. The NYG have 2 QBs in their Top 5 with Jones on his new...

    Where Does the Money Go?

Apologies, Chris. I meant to include that information so folks knew where I got my information. This all came from Spotrac. Washington's positional breakdown, after releasing Wentz and McCain, extending Payne, and signing our new Free Agents, looks like this: 2 - WR (McLaurin, Samuel) 2 - OL...

    Where Does the Money Go?

After listening to last night's edition of Blind Pig (great job lads...maybe Mark and I should sit out more often!), I decided to do a little research to see where the money goes. Specifically the big money contracts. What I did - I looked at the top 10 contracts of all the teams in the...

    2023 Washington Roster Moves

Most of the beat reporters have indicated that the team wanted to keep him so I doubt we let him go "easily". Players have choices and maybe he didn't want to be here anymore. Unless someone talks, and I hope they don't, we won't ever really know.

    2023 Washington Roster Moves

Slay is 32. How long would he be here? If I felt like we were going to be in a position to challenge this year, I can see it but otherwise, I feel like the money can be better spent in other places. I feel the same way about LBs Wagner (32) and David (33). Would signing any of these guys make...
