Yeah I get bringing rookies along slowly but 2nd round picks should be contributing by now. Sinnott is TE3. By now he should have at least been pushing Ertz for snaps.
I mean we have no idea who will be good or bad, outside of the Chiefs who if Mahomes is healthy is a safe bet to win 11+ games.
Everyone would have pegged us as an easy win this year too.
There are building blocks and there are blue chippers.
Guys like Luvu, Biadasz, etc. are building blocks. Real good football players. But they aren't game changing give the opponent nightmare types.
The Jets are in the same situation we were in with Snyder. Good people aren't gonna wanna work there with how toxic and dysfunctional the ownership is. I mean they have the owner's 17 year old son making personnel decisions based on Madden ratings.
All those teams are looking at us and thinking "crap we have to face Daniels."
Gonna be a lot of primetime games too. If the Chiefs win it all I'd expect Commies-Chiefs to be the Thursday Night Season Opener.
Prime Wagner was definitely a blue chipper. I don't think he's quite that good now but he's still a damn good football player. Luvu I'd also put in that really good but not elite tier.
I like Cosmi but he hasn't been quite as great this year as last year. And in general Gs aren't needle movers...
Blue chip to me is a guy that opponents look at and say "yeah we have to gameplan specifically for him, he can completely take over a game."
OL in general can be blue chip for their positions but in this context I don't think any are truly blue chip except maybe like prime Trent Williams. Same...
It was me who I said that. Daniels and McLaurin are the only two guys that opposing teams are legitimately scared of and that can completely take over games.
That doesn't mean our other players all suck. We have quite a few good players. Some very good. But no other true blue difference makers...
We need more blue chip playmakers period. We have a total of two: Daniels and McLaurin. Fortunately the QB being an elite blue chipper is worth like three blue chippers of other positions.
But look at our competition in the NFC. Detroit's got a bunch. As does Philly. Hard to compete with them...
I still have no issue trading for Lattimore. He's under contract for two more years at a reasonable price. CB was a huge need for us(still is) and the draft picks given up are fairly inconquessential.
We clinch the 6 seed with a win(or a Packer loss but I doubt they lose to the garbage Bears at home unless they full on rest everyone and even then their backups could win).
Big difference between being the 7 seed and playing in Philly or being the 6 seed and playing either in LA or Tampa.
Hell predicting strength of opponent IN SEASON can be unpredictable.
It often matters just as much when you play a team vs. who you play.
For example if we faced the Bucs in that mid season stretch where they were without basically all their best players we'd have beaten them. On the flip...
Howell stinks. No way we're even close to 7 wins with him. At best we're 5-10 with wins over Cleveland, Tennessee, New Orleans, Carolina, and probably one of the NYG games.
My guess is the name will stay but there will be new logos and possibly new or alternate color schemes. I actually don't mind the burgundy but the white is too Arizona-y.
If Garrett Wilson is available offer a 1st straight up for him. This draft class sucks and nobody in the 20s is gonna be as good as Wilson who is still super young and on a rookie deal.
We should go for every 4th down that's 5 or less inside the opposing 40 unless its super late and a FG is all we need to win.
JD's mobility makes it basically automatic.
Him and McNichol both provided some huge plays. I like the juice they offer. B Rob looks worn down constantly getting 1 yard runs is frustrating. I think he needs to sit the finale and just refresh himself.
Never lost faith last week or this week.. As soon as Davante dropped the ball last week I knew wed win, and as soon as we won the coin toss I knew wed win this week too.
This is a good football team. Not great yet, but clearly good. We can compete with anyone but don't quite have the high end talent to make a real run.
This time next year if not 2026 at the latest I expect us to be playing for HFA and making a real Lombardi run.
It doesn't matter if the D can't make a stop or we have a bunch of WR4s and old retreads at the skill positions or multiple backups on the OL and 3rd/4th string RBs playing.
As long as we have JD5, we can beat ANYBODY.
