Burner’s Burning Questions – Week Thirteen

Another week is in the record books and another loss has been absorbed by the Redskins. Time for some questions.

1. Trent Williams and Fred Davis have been suspended for the remainder of the season. What kind of impact will it have on the team?

Answer: It certainly won’t be of any help to winning any of the final four games of the season. The Redskins have lost their top offensive lineman and top receiver - that is a devastating blow.

2. Should the team take disciplinary action?

Answer: Yes. Both players have apologized directly to the team and that is a good start. Monetary fines should be contemplated (returning a portion of any bonus money) as well.

3. What about cutting both players? Is that an option?

Answer: Not really. Williams is the best player along the offensive line and he has several years remaining on his contract. Davis will be a free agent soon and the team may elect to part ways with him. The Redskins need good players, so re-signing him brings a risk/reward situation that needs to be considered in the offseason.

4. A report this week suggested that the Redskins could sign Peyton Manning in the offseason. Is this a good idea?

Answer: No. See McNabb, Donovan. The Redskins need to focus on obtaining a young quarterback who will effectively guide this team for the next twelve to fifteen years or more.

5. The chili cookoff is this Sunday at FedEx prior to the game. Who will win?

Answer: If Renaissance is in the contest, no one will be able to compete against her. She’ll win hands down.

That’s a wrap for this week. See you again next Friday.
Hail to the Redskins!

We are all excited to experience the announcement of draft selections IN REAL TIME TOGETHER. If you feel the need to be the first to 'blurt out' the team's picks you are better off staying out of chat and sticking to Twitter. Please refrain from announcing/discussing our picks until the official announcement has been made at the podium. Thanks!
