For those claiming that we would have been better off getting a better draft position and missing the playoffs, I really think you need to look no further than the 2010 Seahawks for a good example of what this playoff opportunity means.

That 2010 team too finished at 7-9 and got into the playoffs. They actually upset the Saints at home and everybody remembers the famous Marshawn Lynch beast mode signature run where he broke 800 tackles for a TD. More importantly than the win, the Seahawks used that as a springboard for what they eventually became - a yearly contender in the NFC conference. There were some pieces in place on that 2010 team and Russell Wilson basically sealed the deal for them to eventually get to two Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014. Almost as impressively, the team has only fallen short of winning 10 games in a season once since 2012.

That's the type of model we need to follow and I think this Saturday gives us an opportunity to help in establishing that foundation. Obviously, we too need to find our Russell Wilson, but the groundwork is already being laid.

This was actually posted on the 1st so it was pre-Philly game, but it's still cool!

If we can generate enough pressure with our front 4, Brady's in for a long night Saturday, he's as mobile as our one legged QB

If you get to Brady and annoy him, he's beatable.... he's just REALLY good at avoiding that situation. Not from a mobility standpoint, but from an intellectual one. He can read defense and manipulate the play in order to get the ball out, or move guys to open space. We need to establish ourselves in the backfield and limit the run game.

Don’t see how the offense moves, much less scores if Alex is as he was in the second half last Sunday....

That’s where I’m at DP. I have no doubt our D can pressure and create problems for Brady. But Smiths limitations (and the pressure that puts on our OL against a much more capable defense than we faced last Sunday) could be major trouble. No matter how well we contain the Bucs offense, if we can’t put up some points or if we keep our D out there all night long, it won’t go well.

What, me worried? :D

From the confidence I see expressed in Taylor Heinicke, he will either start or replace an ineffective Smith and go on a Kurt Warner-type roll with 300 yards passing and 2-3 touchdowns to seal the win.

Tampa won't know what hit them.............literally.

Bruce Arians after the game will be like 'WHO beat us again? Where did this guy come from?" :2thumbsup:

  • Cool!

Honestly, I think you are going to see Heinicke.

Alex gave it a go and got us over the hump against the Eagles but those two touchdown drives he engineered IMO were his final contribution to the team this season.

That calf injury is just not going away and while I hope it is just a strain or stretch I wonder if it is more serious and related to the reconstruction.

I haven’t seen anyone express confidence in Heinicke, unless expressing the belief that a QB who can actually move, run, and throw the ball more than 25 yds may give us a better chance equates to ‘confidence’?

I guess if Alex does suit up we can expect post-game headlines like ‘Smith Vanquishes Bucs with Superior Reputation’, ‘Bucs Fall to WFT in Rare Zero Pass Game’, or ‘WFT Falls Short - Smith Displays Record-Breaking Leadersip in Loss’

The Giants’ fans will be saying “This should be us beating them!” 🤣

Danny Dimes dropping that game against the Bucs in the regular season is the entire reason we're in and they're out.

Game Saturday, so they had practice today even though it's Tuesday

I’d be okay with it :)
