The Positive Thread

No one ‘shits on’ anyone here. Disagreeing with someone on football or anything else is just human nature, it’s to be expected.

Expecting anything different is going to lead to a lot of disappointment.

Coming to a thread like this and basically saying that its not ok to think this team is better than 3 -13 is directly shitting on the thread, I dont think Mike was saying anyone was gettin dumped on, but more the thread itself.

It's a narrative that contradicts the whole point of a thread like this. The purpose is to have some fun and the fact that people decide to take time out of their day to tell people that they're basically wrong for wanting to do so is infuriating. The team can be bad but people can still find positivity in certain aspects, the 2 are not completely independent of each other.

The sad thing is I didnt EXPECT anything different.. just had a little hope that the premise of the thread could be appreciated and those who cant find anything positive just avoid it and let us all have a little fun.

anyone - team staff/players/organization.

My brother is a Cowboys fan. Before the games, he talked trash. Said we were garbage, Dallas would dominate, etc. After the games, he said I'm terrified to play you fuckers. That's positive enough for me.

You're both overreacting imho. It's human nature to debate - even in a thread where you don't want to debate. But no one here that I'm familiar with here enters a thread with the intent to 'shit on' anyone or anything.

I disagree. My point of this was to have some fun and find positives. Less than a page into it there is a post basically telling everyone that the team is bad and if we all lay down and accept it we will be better off... that's not positive. We are also told it's a 3 - 13 team... so we have 15 weeks to win 2 more games now I guess 😉.

Its discouraging. It's not against the rules, and nobody to my knowledge got reported for it... doesnt mean we have to like it. 😎

Jimmy the peoples corner Moreland, and Fabian 1st round talent Moreau. They showed up.
Landon Collins is playing like a stud again.

Johnathon Allen does not have to get everyone amped up. He can focus on playing.
Daron, Montez, JA, RK and Chase all made big plays.

Everyone gets to eat.

It was great to not hear all the negative comments from broadcasters. Apparently Ron Rivera has the respect of many of them and that is helping turn around all the negativity we are so used to hearing.

I'm positively gleeful Dallass is getting spanked 20-0 in the first quarter by the falcons. And like what I'm seeing and hearing from our WFT.

Here comes the positivity! :D

Considering our recent track record...

Week 2 and we're STILL leading the NFC East.
We're UNBEATEN at Home
We're UNBEATEN in the Division!

The only game we've lost is a game on the ROAD to a potential Superbowl contender.

Haskins isn't making silly mistakes. No Interceptions and just one fumble (that wasn't on him!)
Young is leading the league in sack after ONLY 2 GAMES AS A PRO!!!
Gibson is starting to look like a gem - especially when he has space!
Terry is confirming his STUD status.

AND Rivera has a plan and is firm on giving his young guys the play time they need to develop.

As much as the loss on Sunday stings, I'm actually REALLY please with how this season is progressing!

Sometimes little things can signal seismic shifts. Shortly after the WFT opened it's washingtonjourney.com site (to keep fans informed about the culture and namechange journey the team has embarked upon) I submitted my ideas about a new name.

Some could argue, the very fact the team recognized the need to keep fans informed, and to give them an avenue whereby they could make their own suggestions or offer feedback, was revolutionary. It is certainly not 'the Redskins way' and that leads me to believe that it is the new leadership Snyder has brought in that is bringing about that kind of positive change.

I made my 'submission' more than a month ago. Today I got a personal email from Jason Wright, new Team President, thanking me for my submission. While the email was no doubt an automated software-generated reply, it says something that the new organization is thinking about these little details.

That there is at least leadership on board now that recognizes what fans have and are going through, and the importance of giving them a voice in the process - that's damn near revolutionary thinking for a team that's been mired in dysfunction and tonedeafness for decades.

They were eclipsed by Haskins poor performance, but there were some positives from yesterday's Brown's game:

1. Dontrell Inman had a great day and could be the WR help we've been looking for.
2. We saw more use of our hybrid RBs yesterday with McKissic and Gibson both catching 3 passes in addition to RB carries (with just 1 incompletion between them)
3. AGG can move.
