The Bombshell

The awful truth is there are likely other incidents of equal or even worse content that either witnesses didn’t feel comfortable revealing or the Post couldn’t fully corroborate.

I tend to think the 'delay' in the article being published was due to them having to redact/edit some information under legal threat. Just conjecturing, but this may not be all or the worst of it.

So, you'd be cool with getting rid of the cheerleaders, league wide, since they are "sexualized" and "objectified" and the entire concept is outdated in this enlightened world, correct?

Yes, absolutely. 1000 %. Not only are they sexualized and objectified, but the concept of cheerleaders in professional sports is just . . . silly to me.

I do think professional cheerleading squads do provide some level of community service and engagement, which are indeed important functions, but they can do that without being objectified, paid poorly, and generally treated like shit. And lest you think I just am a curmudgeon who hates dancin', Sassy has been know to cut a rug a time or two.

Yes, there is a long way to go and more pain is likely to come out. The scandals in this league over the last twenty years are going to be dwarfed by this one.

I saw a runner wearing a Redskins jersey and the back?

Instead of a name it said ‘Stop Snyder’ 😛

Things are getting UGLY!

I believe it. 100%.

The team statement was pathetic. An absolute joke.
oh, for sure. it was standard template "we see the issue, we hired XYZ, and we will address it"

nothing at all of substance there. but, then again, Snyder doesn't have substance to begin with.

And yeah, the Washington Post is a left-wing paper who pursues vendettas on folks they believe deserve it.

I don't mean to dignify this digression, because it's the result of several posters trying to muddy the waters and detract from the real story without disputing the facts by claiming the source of the story is disreputable, corrupt, and even worse, liberal. And this isn't directed at you Boone, because I know you're only responding to those posters. But people on the left (of which I count myself) would be surprised to learn that the Washington Post (and the NY Times for that matter) is a left-wing newspaper.

the wapo and the NY slimes are left wing papers, I don't even like Bari weiss, but when a lefty leaves your paper and says this, you probbaly gotta listen

Snyder is reaping what he sowed.

Remember when it was brought out that Cooke used to provide food for the press at games, suite level stuff and Snyder decided to provide them with fast food including Baconators and shakes to get their goat?

Small things like that visited on people over 15 plus years has a thousand knives out for him now that he is in free fall.

Remember league people complaining about Snyder’s treatment of hotel staff at the annual meetings his first year?

This guy put himself out there as a target from Day 1.

Anything to do with Gruden? That sumonabitch can’t be squeaky clean in all this mess

No Ryman, you don't get it and this post proves it.

No one should be told how to dress to maximize their looks in a business environment. Period.
A runway model?

Jay Gruden was as seedy as Bruce in his own way.

Those videos on Instagram showed a hammered coach at the end of a party being propped up outside by what looked like a high school or college age girl.

This guy evidently has his own issues.

To be fair, I don’t read the WP and haven’t for years, so I’ll defer to those of you who do. ‘Liberal’ and ‘Conservative’ are relative terms anyway. I have friends who swear they are middle of the road ‘moderates’ but they would not be by my definition. I suspect if I did read the Post, they would fall on the more liberal side of the fence from where I sit, but respect if you differ

if people knew how overtly sexual the entire league culture is, many of you would cease to be fans I think.

I went to visit a buddy who played for the bears, we went out to a club and im not kidding, there were women lining up to grab a player. I saw a special teams coach pull a solid 9, lol

for years we never even heard the worst stuff, several players were known to be serial sexual assaulters, that TE from seattle had a history dating back to college. these are not choirboys, that doesnt excuse anyone but you guys seem to be operating under the idea that the league is not full of craziness.

Uhhh, hard no from me on that one.

If we continue to allow men in authority to objectify women, you know what will happen? They'll keep doing it.

If we continue to say, well this is bad, sure - but it's worse elsewhere, you know what will happen? They'll keep doing it.

If we qualify any statement with "but" you know what will happen? They'll keep doing it.

I don't think it's outrageous to to be outraged about this. Honestly, if you're not outraged, you're not paying attention. Wake up. There isn't a sliding scale of bad behavior that makes some stuff fire-able and other stuff excusable.

IT'S ALL INEXCUSABLE. AND PEOPLE SHOULD BE FIRED. AND SNYDER SHOULD LOSE THE TEAM.

Maybe then they won't keep doing it.

So...today I sent an apology to Anne the Fan, Special K, and DocSandy as well. I will never post another image of a cheerleader again. I have even gone through and deleted most from the library of images I have.

So for those who are outraged by the FO actions, which you should be, yet used to salivate over images I had posted over the years...I think you owe these ladies who joined the chat room an apology as well.

I love this post from D.J. Swearinger. While it doesn't directly relate to the allegations of sexual harassment and abuse, it does speak to the ubiquitous culture of toxic masculinity (hey a cliche and redundancy at the same time) that exists in Ashburn.
