Redskins Announce Formal Review of Team Name

That's not quite accurate, I've seen a number of them pop-up with opinions. I'm not sure I've seen any of the true old guard from the Gibbs years, but a number of more recent players have commented.

I know polls have been done and the number favor the Skins keeping the name. In at least one case, overwhelmingly so. I also know the sources of those polls has an agenda and was stunned when the data didn't support their position. I feel like that should tell us something but I would also like to see an independent body run a larger poll, perhaps even a formal referendum, among Native Americans that will put paid to this issue one way or the other for the balance of my lifetime.

this is interesting... Loverro has always been very critical of the Redskins so take this how you want it... but if it grows legs, this could be something to pay attention to.
 
There's really not many other logical explanations for minority ownership wanting out on the eve of a name change. Fucking Snyder - what kind of an ass insists on continuing to own and lead an organization he's been an abject failure with and who is almost universally hated by his own customers? There is seriously something wrong with him.

and at a price tag he likely can't even afford. Like i said in the other thread... how the hell does he afford the next 2 years out of his own pocket? Do you really think ANYONE is willing be a minority investor with him as the majority?

Kinda explains why Fedex (Fred Smith) all of a sudden is against the name too. Like F me eh Dan...nah F you!

Ive defended Snyder in the past on the meddling and what nots. But he is honestly & factually the one person in history to kill off the Washington Redskins existence. This fact cannot be denied and will have disdain towards him for it the rest of my life.

I’m starting to think this too. At first I thought maybe it was due to Snyder cutting them out of the name discussion, since all we have heard about is his conversations with Rivera. That to me was a sign that he’s doing things on his own and it’s probably not just this issue. Maybe that is still part of it. But now I’m starting to move to the fact that these guys wanted out and are getting back at him. Think about all the dumb stuff Snyder has done. We all say what goes around comes around. I think they are starting to do to him what they have seen him do to people his entire time as owner.

Wrong.

Snyder may be the worst human that ever walked the face of the Earth.
But please, do not for a second try to shift the blame for all this SJW bullshit away from the responsible party.
There is one group of people that are doing this. One.
Just because they can't be called out by name doesn't change that fact.

I've told you for years, he's a miserable little SOB. To nearly everyone. I imagine at league meetings when he gets up and leaves, everyone else in the room is like "Thank God that asshole is gone" As I stated earlier, it would not surprise me to find out this is a multi pronged attack orchestrated by the WokeFL to get rid of the little prick. Minority owners, advertisers. And the fact that he's already driven away the fans. Not good for business. The name change is only secondary if this is what's happening.
 
I've tried to give him some benefit of the doubt - because I'm not a fan of pretending humans are cartoon characters who can be summarized in a word or two. But he's shown enough pettiness and tone-deafness to last a lifetime. He isn't a leader in any sense of the word, yet has consistently refused to stay out of organizational decision-making. And his tendency to wait until issues have reached crisis point to consider change has absolutely destroyed this franchise. It doesn't require personal knowledge or history to have come to despise his tenure as owner. I don't know if the man is evil incarnate or not. I know he has done some good things, particularly in terms of supporting some players and being generous with his money. But as far as this team and organization goes, he's been an utter disaster. This would've been the perfect opportunity for him to bow out gracefully, and use his steadfast refusal to change the name to date as cover. But he's too stubborn and selfish to take it. I don't see any reason to believe he won't be the owner for the duration of my life.

The party responsible for all the SJW nonsense deserves blame for MANY of today’s problems in this country and sure as hell gets due credit for destroying our team’s heritage. But Dan is the one who is bending knee to their will and erasing our favorite team’s legacy in the process. I’m viewing it as a 2 part problem, Dan is the 2nd and final coffin nail for our team
 
What would happen if one person--just one--stood up to this PC bullshit. I kinda thought Danny boy might be that guy. I mean, FedEx doesn't want to associate with the name Redskin? I promise you some other company would. As for Nike, screw them. I KNOW some apparel company would be eager to make Redskin merchandise.
 
Not sure how feasible it would be but if I worked for the team I’d definitely look into a collection of tribes to make future apparel. Something like the team builds the facilities & arranges the manufacturering for all Redskin merchandise made 100% by Indians.

Maybe see if UPS would take the contract for deliveries as well. That would give a giant middle finger to the PC pansies, Nike & FedEx all in one swoop.
