The sage veteran and the kid talk about what it means, and doesn't mean to be a 'Black QB'.
because its not a real job to begin with. Like many jobs in professional sports.Timmy Smith still holds a record, too. That game was won by The Hogs plain and simple.
Here is also something usually skipped; Ricky Sanders had 193 yards receiving and 2 TDs.
Doug had a great quarter in that game and I won't deny it. But, he was replaced the next year by Rypein who gets barely any recognition in comparison even though he had a better overall season in 91 and dominated the entire league.
I still can't for the life of me figure out why he was hired as an executive here when he has zero experience as one.
I think you could make that argument about a lot of ‘Executive’ positions, not just in Pro Footballbecause its not a real job to begin with. Like many jobs in professional sports.
Don't forget, he coached Grambling, too.DW got hired because Snyder wants to milk the glory years for all its worth. And I could be wrong, but I thought Douglas had some experience or something similiar with The Buccaneers?
I am so tired of the race card coming out. Did anyone at any time refer to Haskins as a "black QB"?
serious question. I don't even think I remember it about RG III.
I truly can't stand Doug. Dude had half a season and one game to now be a "legend" in this organization.
I do recall it coming up with Griffin. It came up quite a bit the first half of his rookie season, and I know some of it was from the black community questioning if he was black enough, especially as his fiancee was white.
With the sheer amount of pundits in the entertainment reporting industry that currently exists, it's always going to be coming up, because airtime needs to filled out somehow....but in the end, the important point is made: either you are a QB, and qualified to be so, or you aren't. Race shouldn't enter in to the discussion at all, as it really shouldn't matter. Only merit should.
All I want is our QB position to be settled for years to come. Race shouldn't even be an issue.
not maroon and black? There's only three colours I care about: green, and Burgundy & Gold. HTTR
Doug Williams is a good man, a good human being and has earned his keep.
As for the Riverboat Pilot....be careful what you wish for......
