Tell us more SS - I see asparagus, but what's underneath that and how did you cook it?

Super simple. Melted some butter in the hot DO , then added breadcrumbs to soak up the butter, then took the mixture out and laid out chicken cutlets in the DO, slapped some swiss and sliced ham on them, dumped the breadcrumb mixture over the top, threw in fresh green beans and cooked for 35 minutes. I used 18 briquettes on the bottom, in a circle around the edge, then 6 coals on top.

It came out great!

Haha! Afraid to call it a DUTCH OVEN again?

Cedar plank salmon with a brown sugar and Dijon glaze tonight. Just put a dry rub on some baby back ribs for tomorrow night. Shrimp will have to wait until Tues. night.

Been making a lot of ice cream lately. The little guys and I picked Strawberries a week ago and I made fresh strawberry ice cream that was incredible. I then tried Lime Sherbet later in the week, will be trying Orange Sherbet today.

Lots of fun and really tasty.

Am I the only one cooking anymore?

:)

Made a wonderful chilled Cucumber Soup for lunch today. Ridiculously refreshing on a hot day, one of my new favorites.

I had another one of those cravings for chili yesterday. Whipped out the old family recipe for a late afternoon batch with extra (and I mean extra) beans. Had two large portions and a smaller bowl later in the evening. Well, you can figure out the rest. Whoa!

Made fresh salsa last week, and had some leftovers so I threw it in a crockpot with a chicken breast, and 5 hours later, viola`! Chicken tacos! Made some spicy coleslaw with fish sauce and red curry paste to go on top as well. I made fish tacos earlier in the week and put pickled jalapenos and red onions on them and it was so good I did it again tonight. I can not imagine eating a taco without pickled peppers and onions now. :)

Had a 4 layered lemon filled cake with egg white lemon icing. I worked half the damned day on it, but damn it was good.

No wine tonight, tomorrow I'm doing red beans and rice and am trying to decide what would pair with that.

You are the man! I am sitting alone in Buffalo Wild Wings drinking a Guinness while I wait an hour to see the new Planet of the Apes movie. Living the dream.

Wings hot as hell. Moved on to a Carolina Blonde now. Sadly - this a type of beer.

And I can't (for reasons of decorum) describe what a Carolina Blonde tastes like. But it may be pretty accurately named.

If memory serves...

The Guiness sounded good. As for the wings, we're growing habaneros in the garden this year, I may hit you up for some hot sauce advice later on. Love me some hot wings.

Hot sauce is unbelievably easy. I'm growing a slew of super hots this year, so anyone who wants some I can hook up.

We did some new Dutch Oven meals from camping last weekend. Rosemary Chicken, potatoes, and Zucchini and my first attempt at Dutch Oven Cinnamon Rolls. Both came out well. Also made an incredible Amish Breakfast casserole but I forgot to take a pic of it.

Loving cooking this way, its fun and makes you get creative. The coal counts and placement make it almost a science.
