So everyone pretty much agrees we will get our assumed future QB in the draft next year. Although there's a possibility we could trade for one, like a Peyton Manning. But the question is, if the most likely scenario of us drafting a QB with the first pick happens, will we throw him into the fire immediately, and make him opening day starter, like a Matthew Stafford, or Sam Bradford, or will he hold a clipboard for at least a few games, like a Christian Ponder ?

What's going to happen and what I wish would happen are 2 different things. I think we see a Vet starting. I also think we draft one of the kids coming out of college.

Wish: Matt Flynn and draft Andrew Luck

Probability: Matt Flynn and one of the other top prospects

What will happen (And make me :hanged:): Rex grossman and one of the top prospects.

Edit: And of course this is all based on the premise that we draft a QB.

I don't know the answer here, but I will tell you this: if the Redskins bring Grossman and Beck back next year along with a qb taken in Round 1 to 'compete' for the job I am going to throw up.

As soon as the final game is over we need to give these two plane tickets one-way out of town.

Matt Flynn and Ryan Tannhille. Flynn starts and Ryan Tannhille will be the backup. As someone else says Beck and Grossman get two plain tickets out of town.

Robert Griffin III. That is who we should target. Just saw him pass for 479 yds. and rush for 84 yds. That's 563 total yds. No interceptions. World class speed. That was one of the most dramatic finishes to a college game that I have ever seen. And they didn't beat a nobody. They put 45 on the board against Oklahoma - only number five in the nation.

If you don't want RG3 playing for the Redskins, then you have some issues. Seriously.

Wow. Just wow.

Here, here!

The guy definitely creates a buzz and excitement. This offense needs some buzz and excitement. On top of that, from what I read, he sounds like a pretty intelligent young man.

I'd be all for having RG3 in our colours, saving some draft picks by NOT moving up to grab Luck, and surrounding the man with the best offensive linemen that a draft and free agency can produce.

It would be nice to have the one guy that the defense has to focus their entire defensive gameplan towards be on our team for once. I'm tired of watching a putrid offense that doesn't scare anybody. RG3 can definetely help our offense strike some fear into our opponents.

Let's hope it happens.

I hope it happens too. :)

And yes, he is very intelligent. 3.8 GPA. Has a Bachelor's degree already and will soon complete a Master's. He wants to do law school. Poised in the pocket. Can run when needed with that blazing speed (he's on the track team and is a world class sprinter). Checks everyone of his targets to get the pass completed before having to run for it.

He had an 80 yd. td called back for holding (call was a bit questionable) and that would've given him 559 passing for the game and 643 total. It's not like he put up these numbers against Texas-El Paso or Louisiana-Monroe. I'm still astonished at this performance and his highlight reels from other games.

Draft this young man and if he wants to do law school, there are several fine institutions in the region. My son in law - good pun, not intended though :) - (a dang good lawyer if I may say so) can help Mr. Griffin in pursuing this path. Steve Young did it and RG3 will do even better.

Dare I say it? Ok. I want RG3 over Luck. We may need to move up for him, but the price that we pay would be much better than the price for Luck.

I'm all for losing 7 in a row to close out this season. We need to lose hard more than ever. There are premier QB prospects staring us right in the face and it would be a damn shame if we let them slip through our fingers by winning games with many players (e.g. Grossman) who do not figure to be part of the long term solution in D.C. I firmly believe that we are looking at a good 2-3 years before the groundwork that we have started to lay and will continue to lay via the draft/free agency will begin to pay off. I believe that many of the players that will one day be instrumental in winning a championship in D.C. have not yet stepped on the field for us. I'm praying that RG3 is the cornerstone of that group of players.

Somewhere Vinny Cerrato is screaming that the Redskins must take a safety if they get the second pick in the draft.

I'm for picking Matt Barkley up in the 1st round. The kid is smart, makes great football decisions, has a great arm and makes all the throws accurately and on time...and plays in an NFL style offense. Not as mobile as some, but the idea of seeing this golden boy in a number 7 jersey makes me smile.

The kid can play.

Just found out that the Redskins had a substantial number of scouts at the Baylor/OU game last night. Sure, they are taking a look at Jones, but the purpose of the trip was to get more insight(s) to RG3.

Also learned that the team is going to have a special focus on him from this point forward.

Interesting. Very interesting.

RGIII is definitely a sharp young man, very articulate, and seems to have a solid head on his shoulders. I love his athleticism. He's not a huge kid, think he's only 6' 2" and hasn't he had a knee injury already? I'd worry about durability a little. I also think selecting him would be considered a serious 'reach' by analysts with a top 5 pick. I don't care about that - but if we go that route, he'd better turn out to be Drew Brees :) This will be an absolutely stocked draft class for QBs though. That's really good news for the Redskins.
