or have already jumped on, if applicable ?

Whether it's finding a team to pull for in the playoffs once the Skins are eliminated, or finding a permanent 2nd favorite team, due to un-manageable frustration with Redskins' woes, or God forbid, an ultimate replacement for your #1 favorite team, if you can't hang onto the Redskin ship much longer - which team(s) are you most likely to latch onto ?

49ers ?
Bears ?
Packers ?
Texans ?
Colts ?
others ?

I root for the Ravens every week, except when we play them. And I don't care what you nerds think!

Do you take photographs of them, as well ??
Nope! Except when they come into our house in a few weeks, I will likely go to that game.

And for real, this site must have the Ravens as their 2nd favorite, there is a Ravens banner at the bottom of the page... ;)

are you kidding me?

there is NO other team to like for me.

if you jump on another team's bandwagon just because yours is doing poorly you might as well not come back. Its the ones who stick with it thru the hard times that deserve the sweet times.

That's me too. The 'skins are the only team I root for. I'll watch other games, but I'm a loyal one-team kind of guy.

I second this.

I can't root for any other team... in my immature years after a visit to Seattle (this was when they were AFC, I did root for them in the AFC.. I loved the town the people and being there by myself at a relatively young age, I was impressionable. However.. the times I would NOT root for them is if a loss by them helped us in any way shape or form (which when they were AFC were few and far between). I liked Steve Largent. However.. that does NOT mean they were my "second team" or actively went out and bought Seahawks "stuff". Now that I've matured past those years.. there is no ONE team I will root for outside of the B&G. I cannot root for the Ravens.. I can't root for a town that in essence did the same thing to Cleveland that Irsay did to them and then turned around and embraced them. I respect people's rights to root for them.. i don't HATE them... that feeling is left for the Iggles and Cowboyz of the world. And Giants to some extent. And the Bucs. And yes, now the Seahawks.

Playoff wise... I usually will choose a team that is the lesser of 2 evils if I can. If it's Philly and Dallas... I'm not even sure I watch. I will root for a team if they are playing the Eagles or Dallas. I am not there yet with the Giants, though I cannot actively root for the Giants either.

Bottom line.. If I have no emotional ties to the game (i.e. I despise one of the teams playing which makes it easy to root for the other) I watch hoping for a good game. Period.

Please excuse my one lapse in "claiming" the Seahawks as my "AFC" team for a couple short short years back when they first became an expansion team. I know much better now.

Ravens are going to have a casino right outside their stadium in a couple years......that alone might make me jump ship if the Skins don't get their act together :biggrin2:

Other...teams...?

What is this "other" that you speak of?

I don't latch on to or root for other teams per se but I do find myself rooting for guys like Peterson and Manning in their comebacks. I also like old school football so the 49ers game is appealing to me. But really it would probably be Peyton Manning. I really like the guy and his story is the stuff legends are made of.

But I root AGAINST teams quite a bit...the Cowboys and Skyrats along with the Patsies are just too easy to root against. I also root against any team Norvaless coaches although the Chargers aren't too likely to be going anywhere this year.

Every year, when the Skins crap out, I start to watch the Steelers or the Pack. I have a soft spot for the Saints too, since I was stationed in Mississippi for four years. Mind you, I don't really ROOT for them so much as follow them, especially when the playoffs start

Yeah, if you get on another team's bandwagon, to the point of being emotionally invested, just stay there. We'll be just fine without you.

Now, I will say that if the Skins didn't exist, I'd probably be a Packers fan -- tradition, history, great fans. But the Skins do exist, so enjoy yourselves out there Pack fans.

I also find the Texans to be entertaining...especially their first ever game...but if they never win a game, it won't matter to me at all.

no way , no way man ...skins are the only team i care bout , theres no bandwagon..i live in cali ...theres hater fans, there winer fans ...screw them all ...

For me it goes like this:

Root against the Cowboys until they are out, then
Root aginst the Eagles, then
The Giants

Then, see which team remaining is the least repulsive. Root for them. (This year the Giants take the top spot on the list.)

In the AFC I usually root against the Ravens and Jets, and sometimes throw in the Pats just cuz. I think I'm also going to start rooting against the Colts, because they don't deserve another 15 years of elite QB play simply because they sucked for one season. Eff them.

But I don't really ever rot FOR another team. Just kinda figure out who I hate the least.

I always adopt a team to root for once the playoff's start. I never pick a favorite or one that has won a superbowl in recent years. If the Skins are still playing I don't bother. At this point I would be inclined to pull for the Texans, Broncos (because of Peyton) thats about it.

Cant root for anyone other then the Skins. I find myself saying "that'd be cool if they got it" OR "i wouldnt mind seeing them take it, they deserve it."

No chance i ever find myself ROOTING for any other team

O.K., I'm kind of like Sarge here in that I have a soft spot for the Packers-I grew up around the Great Lakes and the "Black and Blue" division and my introduction as a young teen into live in-your-face NFL football was watching the iconic Lombardi Packers playing the Bears at Wrigley field in Chicago in the 1960s. I saw Starr, Hornung, Taylor, Adderly, Nitschke, Pitts...et. al. in person. When you're that young, impressions like that never really completely go away. I kind of follow them and wish 'em luck in their division (hating the Lions and Vikings goes deep into my younger years-like the Cowpukes).

In fact the Packers indirectly led me into becoming the Redskins fan I am now-I may write sometime about that journey into the Redskins fold, I don't know. At any rate I always root for the Skins and no one else as a matter of course no matter what. I always also have a tendency to cheer for whoever is playing the Cowpukes as a "secondary interest".

But my heart belongs to the Redskins-and always will. I cannot think of ever abandoning them. No matter what.

Hail.
