I hate to say it, but we need the players to walk out. After seeing Morgan getting fined for throwing the ball at that punk Finigan, it's clear the league could care less about player safety.

It's the only way the league will get the real refs back on the field. There letting hits go unpunished that they have said they would stop, so they don't look bad by admitting the refs are doing an unacceptable job.

They say all safety laws are written in blood, so it's going to take a star player sustaining a career ending injury before they move to get the real refs back.
 
The NFL sent out a letter today to all team owners warning them that any action deemed as disrespectful or antagonistic to the refs (from players or coaches) would be dealt with severely.

Yeah - that's the problem Goodell. It's not the referees, it's the response to the referees. What they should have warned coaches and players about was excessively aggressive or dirty play or any perceived attempt to take advantage of less experienced referees.
 
I couldn't agree more brother.

What's really sad is, Morgan is a scapegoat. Goodell is pissed that Shanny, Griffin, and other Redskins have publicly stated the truth about the game against the Rams. Morgan was the easiest target for them to make a statement with.

You bitch.... we'll find something to nail you for is what I'm seeing here.
 
I was thinking the exact same thing today.
I was thinking how miserable low the NFL has fallen, that has brought me to the place that I actually would not be upset with a player strike for once.
I truly could go without Redskin football for a year, if it meant, getting some kind justice in the National Mafia League.
 
I don't think it would even take the season. I think if the union was to leak it to the media in the next day or so that they players were set to strike the Monday, we would have the regular officiating crews back for the weekend.

While my underlying natural aggressive nature has me saying the same thing, my better sense says don't lower yourself to that level. We may not have the best team, bet we don't have players that are known for taking cheap shots. Would it really be beneficial if we did ?
 
A players strike would likely violate something in the CBA allowing owners to keep more money. They would welcome that.

My question is, where are the ****ing networks? They're paying top dollar, for an inferior product. If they would sack up and demand partial refunds, or at the very least, use a strict 3 hr cutoff time, (Heidi game) that would get this thing settled, toot-sweet.

The league, the owners, and Heir Goodell, need a trip to the wood shed.
 
Guys, the only people who's opinion matters are the fans. If we stop watching they'll do something. Otherwise there's no reason for the NFL or the players or the networks to care.

Which will never happen. I think everybody knows this. Doesn't mean we can't pitch a bitch about it.
 
Pipe dreams...nice ones but pipe dreams nonetheless. No way a player is going to lose money for a ref and there's been little to NO falloff in fan viewership and the polls all indicate fans for the most part haven't even considered not watching.

I'm with whomever expressed surprise earlier. I can't recall anyone getting fined for anything like this in the past. Seriously?
 
2 years ago a guy hit me in the back and I landed funny on my tailbone and broke it, I watched it on film I was following the play in case a RB cut back, but I was halfassing it, and he just ran up behind me and speared me in the neck, I spun around trying to break my fall and landed right on my tailbone.

I havent been the same since and it took me almost 6 months before I could sit without pain.

this season that player was chasing our QB on a roll out, I had just pancaked my own guy and I saw him out of the corner of my eye, I could have just gotten in his way, and 99% of the time playing semipro thats what I would have done because we all have to work on monday. I recognised his number and I went low and exploded into the block instead of just hitting him , sorry about the torn acl mcl and ruined knee but at least I hit him from from the front. I have absolutely no remorse, I always play clean, im actually known for it, I talk smack so a lot of guys get mad and take penalties against me, but they also know that I have a long memory and that I always get even plus a little bit.

I have no doubt that NFL players are the same, you can play cheap but it will always come back on you.

Redskins have no response to report of Kyle Shanahan berating official

Daniel Snyder owns the Redskins. Daniel Snyder owns Red Zebra Broadcasting. Red Zebra Broadcasting owns ESPN 980.

ESPN 980 has an inflammatory and controversial report regarding the behavior of Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan at Sunday’s loss to the Bengals.

And the Redskins have no response to that report.

According to ESPN 980, Kyle Shanahan chased down an official and said, “You have no f–king balls, you are a f–king pu$$y.”

“We have no control over any media outlet in this area,” Redskins spokesman Tony Wyllie told PFT by phone. “They report what they want to report. Specifically, we’re not responding to that report.”

Anything other than a denial will raise eyebrows at the league office, given that the NFL has warned teams on multiple occasions that there should be no berating or bullying of the replacement officials.

Well good! Maybe he will be suspended for the rest of the year and his father will call the plays from now on. I am tired of watching an early 3rd quarter drive or 2 see the run game really gain momentum only to see Kyle ruin it by getting fancy with his play calls! Sick of it!
