The RG3 Zone

He should get paid directly from the NFL as one of his sponsors. On that page someone says the hype machine knows no bounds. I agree. That being said... RG3! RG3! RG3!

No ****. This is awesome. I just sent a text to my buddy that we watch the games with and goes to them wish us that I can't stop smiling about our new QB.

The hype was so high that at the start of the season it was a genuine concern if he could live up to it or not.

4 weeks into the season it's my opinion that he's even more than advertised. I didn't think it was possible.

Is it twue about what they say about franchise qbs?

oh it's twue..it's twue!!

I'll add to that Snyder.
Snyder could stand in his way. I'm not entirely convinced he's learned his 10 year lesson.

So, show of hands - who thinks the NFL will award the Redskins' initial TD to Griffin? It appears to me that he fumbled before he crossed the goal line, but there's not a lot of evidence. T, can you see anything on the all-22 film?

Challenge accepted!

In all seriousness, you get the broadcast of the game and coaches film. So I can only see what they showed you on TV and when/how they showed it. You don't get to pick the cameras, or slow it down. You have to hit the pause button at the right time. It's quite aggrivating actually. The coaching film is the 'birds eye' view from the sidelines and endzones, from the top of the stadium. so the coach's view wont help.

To really review it you have to piece it together. Here's my best, 5 minute attempt (oxymoron anyone? :) )

So here's screen shot 1. This is where the ball comes out. Notice Griffin is still off the ground, clearly not down. Notice the ball is on his hip.

Here's screen shot 2. Griffin is on the ground. The ball is clearly out (circled in blue), bouncing off his leg and it goes into the endzone. It's still clearly not crossed the plane, and Griffin traveled quite a bit between getting hit (ball popping out) and him being on the ground.

I think the officials got it right. But you can blame Fox for giving us the F team for announcers and production crew. They should have a better camera angle/replay of it but they don't.

edit: i originally posted the same screen shot twice... sorry about that!

Thanks! I'm in a heated fantasy battle in another league in which I'm up by 19 points going into tonight's matchup, and he has Murray. 6 of my points were from the Garçon fumble recovery, so if they took those away....

yeah i'm a commish one of the leagues i'm in and had to wrestle with it too. we decided that the NFL's official stat is what we'll go with.

Yahoo! goes by the official NFL stats as well, but they also post 'stat corrections' on either Tuesday or Wednesday. I've only seen the results of a game changed by these once, but its a possibility!
