And what a debut it was. Most strikeouts in a debut since 1971, first pitcher in history to debut without walking a batter (might have that stat a little twisted).

His final line:
W (1-0), 7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 14K, 0 BB

Probably need to wait until start 4 or 5 to see, but it looks like this kid might be the real deal. And his curveball is just plain nasty - "Unhittable" according to Curt Schilling.

THat curveball is just insane. Both Ray Knight and Rob Dibble said in the broadcast that that was the best curve they have ever seen anybody throw.

The kid is learning.....he made some minor mistakes tonight. That homer was one and he adjusted and KOed that guy the next time around with the heat.

He threw one pitch at 103mph. he has a 91mph change up and a 96mph sinker.
A very fun game to watch.

I'm going to a Nats game later this year and I just hope he'll be pitching that night.

I have flat out lost much of my passion for baseball over the years since Angelos has ruined my beloved Orioles, 13 losing seasons in a row. With that said, I must admit it is nice to feel so excited about baseball in the Washington DC area, even if it is not my O's. I am glad to see this kid play well and I am glad to see the team progressing. They are building a winner through the draft. A novel concept.

Right? Caps, Zards and Nats doing things the right way. Could be a real fun time for DC sports.

I'm glad he did well. If he would've gotten shelled, the crowd here would probably be trying to run him out of town right now

I've lost interest in baseball years ago, due to all the strikes, steroids, and such. Have followed Strasburg's debut mainly due to lack of Redskin news.

Glad he had a good outing and putting DC Sports back on the map for good reasons.

I read last night - no pitcher in MLB history has ever struck out 14 or more batters on less than 96 pitches. It only took Strasburg 94.

EDIT: Also, the no walks record - Strasburg was the first pitcher in MLB history to strike out 11 or more batters and not walk any.

Here is a great article on this kid, from a financial angle. CNBC had a report on exactly how much money he made the club tonight. Mind-boggling:

What we do know is that we’re projecting that Strasburg’s debut game tonight in Washington is worth more than $1.5 million to the Nationals. And that’s likely more than any one player has ever been worth to an organization for a single game.

Let’s show you our math on how we got there for tonight's game.
