Executive Vice President/Head Coach Mike Shanahan

On cornerback David Amerson and other players on the injury report:
“We’ll list him as questionable and if he passes his tests tomorrow and there are no problems, he’ll be ready to go. Everybody else is probable. The guys that we’ve had – [nose tackle Chris] Neild, [tight end] Fred [Davis], [linebacker Brandon] Jenkins, Murph [cornerback Jerome Murphy], [tight end] Logan Paulsen,
Will Montgomery – all listed as probable.”

On his level of confidence that issues with special teams have been addressed:
“We’ll find out on Sunday. We’ve had a great week of practice. We always address the issues, not just on special teams, but defense and offense, when you do something poorly. The red zone, for us, was something we worked on today, both offensively and defensively, which we normally do on Friday. But that’s what you do. If you play poorly in one area, you address it and hopefully we improve and we better improve because Chicago is ranked number one in kickoff returns.”

On what he liked about Joshua Morgan’s performance as punt returner:
“Well, you could tell that he has no fear catching the ball. I’m not sure that was a good decision, but he has no fear. He’s got some natural running skills, so we’re going to give him a shot.”

On if it is tougher to fix special teams issues considering players cannot practice full-speed without an elevated risk of injury:
“What you do with special teams – you have a number of guys that are inexperienced every year and they get better as the year goes on, or at least you’re hoping they get better as the year goes on. They’re playing different positions and it only takes one guy to look pretty average; everybody else can be playing great, very similar to what happened last year in our first couple games of the season. We had two punts blocked. That’s tough to start your year out with two punts blocked and a lot of times it was the difference in the games. So we’re going to work on the little things, get guys hopefully playing at a very high level and show people that we can play at that level.”

On if defensive end Jarvis Jenkins and linebacker Rob Jackson are able to play more this Sunday:
“Yeah, both of them are fine. They’re both fine, ready to play. Obviously we’ve got a game plan, but from a physical standpoint, they’re ready to go.”
