Rich Campbell tweeted that Chas Henry will be working out for the team tomorrow because of Rocca injury. First I'm hearing about it.

@Rich_Campbell
Redskins are preparing to replace injured P Sav Rocca. Former Philadelphia Eagle Chas Henry will work out tomorrow, a source confirms.

Edit: Just read a tweet that Chas Henry is saying it's all but a done deal...physical tomorrow.

Yeah ESPN980 had rich campbell on in the evening after the presser and basically they snuck him onto the injury sheet, but no one checked it and caught it until after the presser so there isn't any news officially from the organization.

rich reported some other guy tweeted that his college buddy was just signed to the skins, but the tweet was quickly deleted. I forget who. No word on what moves they'll make to accommodate a 2nd punter.

This was around 5:30 pm EST when he broke it on the radio.

Rocca's been doing a good job for us this year. We're going to miss him.

Where's Ax ?
Come on, Ax. Now, why isn't your Glamour Boy Kai Forbath handling the punting duties now, as well ???
First off, Ax is everywhere. Ax is all things, to all people, for all time.

Secondly, Kai Forbath is neither Boy, nor Glamorous. He is Charmed, and Mature. Though his statue has yet to be carved, those seeking the honor of it's creation, will kill one another for that right. When it's inevitable day shall come.

Thirdly, he could make the field goal from any distance. He therefore refuses to to punt, as he sees it as admitting defeat. Which his awesomeness does not allow.

And lastly, he doesn't even need a holder. He can kick the snapped ball, in flight, and make his kicks. But he submits to a holder, so it would still be 11 on 11 for fakes and such. Not that he needs it.

Fear not, Oh Ye Fearful.

For Kai is the light. And the light, is Kai.

CBSSprts is reporting it's some kind of problem with Rocca's right knee.

The Redskins might need another punter for Sunday. Sav Rocca was limited in practice because of an issue with his right knee, prompting the Redskins to bring in free agent punter Chas Henry on Friday.

Henry has a 44.0-yard average on 82 career punts, including 16 this season with Philadelphia. The problem has been his net average, which is 37.6.

Trickle down kickers curse.... god dammit!

What we need is our own version of Andy Lee. Last night the Niners, up by 7 and needing a big punt on 4th down, got a clutch 66 yarder from Lee to pin Seattle back at their own 10. They ended up getting a safety, which could have sealed the game, but declined it in order to kneel down and run out the clock. THAT is a weapon I'd love to have although Danny Smith would probably find a way to screw that up too.

well, he is 38.

and he's not just a 38 year old nfl punter. he's a 38 year old nfl punter who's previous career was spending 17 years playing rugby...

I thought they were one in the same, but apparently they aren't. Thanks.

He's gone, but Gano is the only person in the history of college football to be named the MVP of a bowl game as a punter. It's rare to see a punter actually win a game, but that's exactly what he did.

Hopefully no one claims the player that we now have to risk.

Sounds like you guys might be adding another Baylor player if Rocca can't go. Daniel Sepulveda, who played for the Steelers, looks to be the front runner. He was a 2-time Ray Guy award winner at Baylor. During our pre-RG3 years he was the bright spot of our team. Started out as a linebacker and then changed to punter. He is probably most well known for this play.

Thanks for posting that clip. I like him already.
