Products We Love...

Yeah, I was thinking about the Samsung at 300 bucks, but would buy a Sony again. $600 is not justifiable, I need too much camera gear. My room is not big enough to justify that cost either when I am sure the Sony would be more than enough.

Thanks for your input... This thread really is a great idea.

As for the cordless driver/drill set by Makita. I have several contractor friends who went with them and are blown away by the power from the battery and the size of them. One of them told me when he first got them, he looked for the driver for about 15 minutes and couldn't find it. It was hanging from his work belt the whole time. These were guys who swore by DeWalt simply because of the bang for the buck. My brother, a master plumber, used a panasonic set for almost 10 years. He has made the switch to these Makitas too.
You wouldn't happen to know what kind of battery they use would you? The old ones sucked, but they used the old nickel/cadmium crap which sucks for power and endurance. These new ones get a lot of hype though, so I assume they must have switched to lithium, I'm just not sure.

Yeah. I assume it is this one just by looking at the model from the picture and watching one of them hang drywall.

Best invention

Next to a high definition TV the best thing around is the DVR function on the remote.

I agree with Mike on the hidden usefulness of pinterest. I too was a little uncomfortable with it since it seemed rather feminine, but I actually have been using it to get lesson plans for our Kung Fu club as well as all the recipes like Mike gets. (BTW, I think my wife got that Thai Red Curry recipe I posted in the whats for dinner thread from there too).

Pinterest is the girlfriend's domain...the only time I'm on there is to pull up a recipe from her account. I've done the projects, cooked the food, but I let her look it up. :)

Hey Diesel! We dont live too far apart (I'm in Charlotte area). Do you get that syrup locally? Is it what I call "real" syrup? (I cant stand the "fake" stuff like log cabin or Mrs butterworths.

I can usually get it at Food Lion..sometimes, Lowes Foods.

It's nothing like Mrs Butterworths or any of that butter flavored syrup.

Here's their product page:

Good to see ya here! ;)

This product is full of awesome. I had a sore on my upper arm this week and being in the pool each day did not help it to heal at all. One of the PTs suggested Neosporin - a day later, the sore is all but gone.

Have you guys looked at what Ms Butterowrth or any other "name brand" syrup is made from? That stuff is almost all corn syrup!

Not sure I have had King in year's, but I choose whatever 100% Maple syrup is on the shelf as long as it says 100% Maple Syrup...

Log Cabin has a good one out now too that's made from brown rice instead of corn syrup.

OK, the products my household ( I can't do without:))
Nioxin products: I'm the one with hair loss, and for a girl, it's soooo much worse. This stuff I've used for close to 20 years and I keep my hair!
Redken products: They follow my Nioxin routine, and protect it...Extreme Anti-Snap and Real Control Creme.
Coffee(8 O'clock hazelnut) is also a MUST.

Jiffy seed-starting trays. I've used these for years to start my summer garden plants - just add warm water to the tray - the compressed peat pellets expand until you've got a nice little contained planter for starting vegetables, flowers, etc. Very clean and easy to use, and they come large enough so that you don't have to transplant again - they go right into the garden. Awesome product.

And the Miyazaki shaft on my driver.

any suggestions on a non-apple tablet?

I have a galaxy s3 phone so was thinking about the galaxy tab2 10.1 just to keep it in the family.

I want to keep all the pdfs for the 300+ manuals on this boat on a tablet instead of my lappy. I recently worked on a new build where the mfg gives you an ipad when you buy the boat with all of the manuals already on it. It was the tits.

But.....I'm anti apple so there's that. I would surf the web, play games, read, take notes, etc on it. Probably won't activate cell data on it unless I'm travelling.

Any advice would be appreciated.

A couple of my coworkers rave about the ASUS Transformer.
