As some of you may or may not know, Chris Clark (aka Captain Cadaver - see this link for explanation) was traded away, leaving a vacancy in the Capitals captaincy. Ovechkin was officially named Captain for tonight's game against the Canadiens.

Ovechkin is the 14th Captain in Capitals history, and the first European-born. Good stuff!
